I use Firefox. Video card frequency is set to defaults (no overclocking). I have the Omega 3.8.360 drivers installed, but I had the same problems before installing the Omega drivers (I installed them to see if they made the issues go away when using ATI drivers).

ATITool v0.26 says I have Core at 500 MHz and Memory at 300 MHz, the default values. Monitor refresh rate is set at 85 Hz (Viewsonic 22" LCD) and TV is connected via S-Video.

for watching mpeg the 85hz should be set to 60hz this may stop the resync that you are probably seeing as the video card tries to compensate for the missmatch framerate to frequency output to the monitor/tv

I didn't have this problem with GBPVR.exe. I also use the computer while my wife watches TV, and it would be horrible to have 60hz at 1680x1050x32bpp on my Windows desktop.

Do you have personal experience with the questions/answers you're giving, or is it an educated guess?

i wouldnt say its a guess
if you dont beleive me thats fine you carry on watching your stutter
how many frams a second do you think mpeg play at your eye cant even see it(30 by the way)
the refresh rate on crts make a difference to the picture(a flicker) but a lcd is on all the time
the refresh rate makes it match what the video is recorded at so it doesnt have to drop a frame
the reason you are now having problems is cause gbpvr.exe doesnt use vmr custom well unless you set it to that
where as pvrx2.exe does (direct 3d)no matter what you set it to in config unless you start it by modifying the start up short cut

all im saying is give it go if it doesnt work then the issue that i think it is may not be the problem you are having but without having my hands on your actual machine i can not tell you whats causing it
i also never had trouble with gbpvr.exe but it worked totally different you cant really even compare them with this type of issue

My intent wasn't to imply that you don't know what you're talking about. I was simply curious if you had been through this before and were speaking from experience, or if it was an educated guess, in which case I could try it and still have the problem.

Set monitor to 60hz and still have stutter problem. I have Live TV on, and I browse some web pages and the audio/video stutters.

Its possible your video card only supports hardware acceleration on the primary monitor, or maybe prioritizes video updates on the primary monitor. If either of these were the case, I cant think of anything you could do about it other than swapping monitors.

check that your hardware accel is even working
for some reason i have no idea how hardware accel stopped working only in gbpvr on mine and it started doing that (still worked in media player)
i did a repair install and that fixed it
make sure you back up any changes you have made to skins etc
