Try using the device then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

The attached is the result of adding that custom tuner name using the existing vixs settings to device.ini, turning flush logging on, running gbpvr.exe, going to live tv for a few seconds (black screen), and then exiting.

It looks like you've got all the names right, but its failing to connect up correctly for the some reason. Its not clear why though.

ViXS have supplied a sample device, but I havnt had a chance to look into yet (its a hassle because I have to do it remotely to a PC in the US).

Would it help if I did this for you, but I guess you have access to that information already: http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/gettin...t1573.html

To see if it was a driver or hardware problem I used dscaler. It couldn't change channels, but it could tune the channel it started up on. I guess that's enough though.

If I had a clue how gbpvr works I might have more input to offer, sorry Sad

Count me as another owner of this card. I've got the Vista View DA-1N1-I (PCI version) in hand as well. Also, don't know if anyone has noticed this, but the Vista View DA-1N1-I looks very similar to the ADS MCE DualTuner-HDTV+NTSC PCI:

In any event, I've spent the past few days trying to find a PVR application that supports unencrypted QAM as my local cable provider has a ton of channels delivered in this manner (provider is Sunflower Broadband, Lawrence, KS., USA).

I'm not sure how much technical help I can provide, but if there is anything I can do to assist in getting this card to work (along w/ the QAM side of things) just let me know.

The word on Analog support with this thing in GBPVR is: It works when the country is set to USA. It does not work when the country is set to Canada. So Canadians have to defect for this one, but I don't think it matters to the software.

Vista View Saber QAM doesn't work in GBPVR yet. I recently emailed the vista view support about this, and they implied that the ball was in their court now, and that they hoped to have GBPVR or MediaPortal support going in some number of weeks. So I expect they are doing driver work and/or working with the application developers.

Not sure if this is the same card as the 2020, but I checked a long time ago on the 2020 and it turns out that the Saber 2020 is based on a Philips design, where XCode (vixs chip) is used as a companion chip for encoding. The main chip is a Philips decoder that runs as a PCIe device. Therefore, the driver is not the vixs WDM driver. It’s from Philips.

Yea, I got a reply from the Vista View support mentioning the same thing.

Messing around in the GBPVR Config.exe application this morning, this is where I'm at... I've got a Hauppauge PVR500 MCE in the same system (dual analog) and in the Capture Sources tab, both tuners on the PVR500 are configured correctly as is the analog tuner of the Vista View DA-1N1... and as for the NTSC tuner, if I configure it as "BDA Recording Plugin" in the Recording Source, in the Settings of the Recording Source, it I tick "Only show devices detected in this machine", it gives me the "ADS Tech MCE-400" -- which, as I mentioned earlier, looks to be the same device as our Vista View DA-1N1 board.

But then when I try to map the digital channels to the EPG channels, the scan only goes up to channel 68 (most of my QAM channels are in the lower 100 range) and it doesn't find any other channels. Is there a way to get it to scan into the 100's?

And looking at the Silicon Dust page, my provider has 142 unencrypted QAM channels:
http://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/lin...code=66044

Anywho, if anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to post.

The following definitions need to be added to bda.ini for this card:

Quote:[VistaView Saber]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
FILTER_TUNER=ViXS PureTV ATSC Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=ViXS PureTV Digital TV Receiver
PIN_TUNER_IN=Antenna In
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=TS Out

[VistaView Saber (QAM)]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
TUNING_SPECIAL=3
FILTER_TUNER=ViXS PureTV ATSC Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=ViXS PureTV Digital TV Receiver
PIN_TUNER_IN=Antenna In
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=TS Out
Unfortunately QAM will not work with this device. I'm waiting on Vista View for information. The next release of GB-PVR is only a few days away though, so they have missed their opportunity to get it working by then.
