thats pretty much where I'm at with the whole PVR thing. I'm just going to illegally download the TV shows I like now. At least that works pretty much all the time. And playing files with Windows Media Player has never given me problems like jerkiness.

Where do you get your EPG from?

BTW, do you watch Flight of the Conchords. Man thats the funniest thing I've ever seen. Good ol Kiwis

heres my update for today
gone back to old drivers (81.98 forceware)
what do you know its way smoother
give it a go
plus you can add what ever custom resolution you want

sadly the other problem is i can no longer use the cyberlink mux(i like mpeg files)
if i use the dvr-ms i dont get the jitter thing happening on my digital recordings
i am unsure why this is the case

I'm using Purevideo (set to auto deinterlace VMR9) and 6600gt video card to output to both LCD and TV - jerkiness seen on both displays. Freshly installed XP SP2 with latest 163.71 forceware drivers and Purevideo 1.02.223.

CSY's registry tweaks from the wiki are in place: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Tips/...coderTweak

I've read the various thread on mpeg decoding and deinterlacing but they don't seem to describe this problem I'm getting. It seems almost that Nvidia is sensitive to the way some video streams are encoded.

Has anyone else experience this? I'm a bit stuck on what to try next. Any suggestions? Why is it happening only under GBPVR playback? I don't want use another decoder because it works really well on most of the recordings.

I use the same version of Purevideo - 1.02.223 - but don't have this problem, and I am fussy about these things! Have you tried running on just one monitor instead of two? I am using Forceware 91.31 still (as it is the most recent version with a matching stereo glasses driver...)
I never did see the need for CSY's registry tweaks, as if you run PVRX2 in windowed mode temporarilly, you can access the Purevideo icon on the task bar and change all the same settings from there...
What version of PV do you use - bronze, gold, or platinum?
I always found the Intervideo non-css decoders gave the best picture. I only use Purevideo because it does a great job of prologic surround-sound from the UK tv channels - never having had a dolby prologic decoder before, I was amazed at the amount of TV programmes, and even commercials, that have prologic surround. If not for the sound, I would definately use the Intervideo decoders...

I have had the same problem using both PureVideo version on my nVidia 6150. Switching to a different decoder (MPV Decoder) resolved the problem in my case.

I have this problem as well. I have an ATI X1300 video card with the Purevideo 1.02.223 (Trial version). I've reverted back to an old version of the quartz.dll, played with the deinterlacing settings and nothing. I cannot get rid of the blur. Heck, even if I switch back to the Cyberlink ones, it doesn't work.

I also have problems with scrolling items on the screen in LiveTV (and my recordings), like the stock tickers or ESPN bottomline. When they scroll, they are impossible to read. I am using a 27" CRT TV (no 2nd monitor), and I have the resolution of my video card set to 800x600.

I am going to try reverting my quartz.dll back to the version gavinmetzler posted earlier to see if I have a different quartz.dll version.

Well, I got rid of the blurring in the recordings and LiveTV.

It involved completely removing my Omegadrivers, Cyberlink PowerDVD and NVIDIA Purevideo. I even removed all applicable info in the registry (remember to backup first!). I then downloaded the newest version of the Omegadrivers and installed them. I then reinstalled PowerDVD. Then I went to the MS Knowledgebase article pBS posted earlier (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919071) and installed that version of the quartz.dll file. Then I updated the registry according to the Cyberlink registry patch (see wiki or do a search).

No more blurring on scrolling items and REW/FF skipping no longer causes a blur either.

Now I just have to remember to stop playing with my settings, but isn't that the death of us all Smile

So I wonder which one of those fixed it? or a combination......

I thought it was in the wiki, but the wiki actually references the forums.
