 Nope.
They won't play. Do I need to install and additional codecs. Also where can I find them?

(P.S: I have been using VLC all this time to play movies)

I suspected that would be the case. Unfortunately I'm not really sure what to suggest. It looks like something is "broken" about the directshow components on your machine. It seems to not know to use the normal MPEG2 splitter etc for playing these files. I've not come across this myself, so not sure what steps would resolve it.

VLC doesnt use directshow, which would explain why its not having the same problem.

Oops now only I realized that the recorded file in C:\Temp\ is only 83KB. which means the show has not properly been recorded.

Is there anything wrong in my config settings (in the screenshot I have in the first post) otherthan the change that you suggested?

So was that .mpg file you tried to play with WMP? Can you play a real .mpg file on your machine? ie, one you've confirmed is working in VLC?

I just download and played a mpeg file in WMP10, and it's playing perfectly.
So what do u think the problem is?

1) Show was not recorded correctly
2) Live TV freezes

(I have DirectX 9.0c)

Do a recording from the TV Guide, then zip and attach the GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log and GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.
