Multiple Instances pvrx2.exe

Sub has this code changed anything.

Before running your new code I got multiple instances of pvrx2 when pressing the remote key.

I then replaced with the new code and got

"Aquired mutex, only instance running" on first press

On subsequent presses no multiple instances.

Back to the old code and it now works fine???

I'm now extremely confused.

Just an extra point, I don't get focus on the old window.

ie if it is behind an explorer window it stays there.

No, it didnt change anything. It just added a messagebox to help determine what was happening. Going back to the old PVRX2.exe should be exactly the same as before the patch.

owell by putting that file in then switching back either fixed it or i dont know what

one more thing it used take ages to start and now its back to how it used to be opens within 5 seconds was taking upto 20

I have had exactly this behaviour - had multiple instances, tried the test patch thing and got the message box, but no multiple instances. reverted to the old pvrx2 and the problem has gone. I'm only mentioning this cos I don't use HIP... Although i'd also add that I also can't regain focus of PVRX2 by relaunching it as I used to with GBPVR.

This thing had been bothering me for a while... just tried the patch, got the same message as everyone, reverted back to the original... and Boom - problem gone!
BTW, I do use HIP, and if i have another window open and pvrx2 in the background, it doesn't regain focus, just starts flashing in the task bar... any way to fix that?

I'll have to your word for it, but I cant imagine what has changed.

program hip to use the red button as hip control so it brings up the hip box then hit "1" give focus back to gbpvr

also have mine set to send comand to last selected app under the alternate input tab in hip
thats my work around the focus problem

thats 3 people so far at least im not alone

ok, here is the fourth. And again a different result.
I do not use HIP. Before I could start several instances of PVRX2. Then Installed the patched. Reinstalled original. Instead of additional instance I get now "Sorry, this system does not support the required VMR9 video render."

Try rebooting.

I suspect its something to do with the app failing to update HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Devnz\ActiveHwnd registry setting. Something about having the message box present allowed that registry key to be updated... so now you have that setting, but its probably set to the wrong value (from message box run) which explains why app is failing to switch focus to that previous instance.
