Inside the Artist1 folder I have 2 subfolders named Album1 and Album2. When navigating thru my music folders with GB, I'd love to be able to highlight the ARTIST1 (parent folder) and simply press my remote's PLAY button. I would expect it to play all songs from ALBUM1 and ALBUM2...
That patch I supplied above does this. All tracks found in the nested directories will be shuffled then played.

I've added a setting in the config file for the next which dictates whether it does this automatic shuffle when playing a directory.

This is great, exactly what I was wishing for in Music Library. Especially the shuffle (or not) option.

Thanks, Sub.

Thanks Sub! This makes the Music plugin more intuitive and useful. I'll try it out shortly...

I was just wondering if the logical thing would be if you selected the directory & hit "play all" then it shuffled them, but if you went right into the directory & selected "play all" it then played them in order?

Super that was what I was looking for. Got a little request. can you shuffle a playlist.m3u too? I'll make the playlists with the PC so no need for MVP add to queue that sort of thing.

Just shuffle a playlist.m3u would be really great....

Like the mods, sub, but I don't think shuffle/not shuffle should be a config function. I think it needs to be made more flexible. Why not just have two Play buttons e.g. Play shuffled and Play in order?

It was intended to be a tiny addition I'd sneak in so that it would behave the way my wife desired. I dont really want to waste time on this other stuff.

The 'play' button on the remote seems pretty logical for this. I cant think what other button makes sense for the non shuffled form of the feature. Did you have a remote button suggestion?

I hate using funny keys that make no sense for the intended function, but we can do FF if no one comes up with a better suggestion...
