what skin are you trying to use? And have you done an initial scan on the library?

Failing that post your logs and I'll look

My problem is very similar to Meekochan's: When I open Music Library2 in PVRX2 I get this message: "You do not have any music paths set up".

It seems as the result of the scan has not been saved in the data base. What is the proceedure for saving the result of the scan?

Before I scanned I set up a collection and its path. Pressing Scan Now I got this message: Collections have changed and need to be saved. By doing this, you cannot cansel the config changes, continue with scan? I pressed Yes - should this save the collection and it path?? If I should press No - what other action am I supposed to take?

When I start config /plugins/Music Library2/Settings I get this message "DatabaseProviderFactory does not match DatabaseConnectionString Database type (file name), Verify your settings on the general tab"

My settings are version 6.7, MSAccess D:\Program?devnz\gbprv\MusicLibrary2.mdb

So I go on: Collection, collection path, scan, okay and start PVRX2 and there is nothing. There must be something very elementary that I don't do as nothing seems to be saved. Am not experienced in databases. Help!

Hmm, msaccess, not sure I've tested that for a while. You could for a test try the same actions with a db3 database.

Also, are you vista?? I do remember vista peoples having trouble - depending on where their database was, they has to shift it to a "user area"

Thanks, no I am on W2K and XP - both with the same situation.

Suppose I should install SQL Lite, but where do I get the file MusicLibrary2.db3 from?

Ah, ok, um, just set to db3 (sql lite) and it will create the database for you. A feature of SQL lite that I was never able to do with MS Access. If you chose MSAccess for being able to view/edit the db, then I'd recommend SQLLite Spy or SQL Lite Browser...

Thanks psycik. Downloaded SQLLite unzipped the one file sqlite3.exe, which I ran. Now installation seemed to follow, it just opened a dos type windows with a sqlite> prompt
Then what do I do??

Went through the same proceedure as before (except changing to d:\program\devnx\gbpvr\MusicLibrary2.db3) and the result was exactly the same - nothing. Seems to me that I should do something to save the scanning of 1000+ tags. No MusicLibrary2.db3 file has been created, and the collection path has disappeared next typm I open config.

Ok, first thing I see in your Config is this still expecting an MSAccess DB.
Code:
<DatabaseConnectionString>Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source="D:\Program\devnz\gbpvr\MusicLibrary2.mdb";User Id=admin;Password=</DatabaseConnectionString>  <DatabaseProviderFactory>System.Data.OleDb.OleDbFactory</DatabaseProviderFactory>

Your exe.log looks strange - should look like this:
Code:
2008-03-05 21:54:00.120    VERBOSE    [1]    skipping background
2008-03-05 21:54:00.120    VERBOSE    [1]    skipping background
2008-03-05 21:54:00.120    VERBOSE    [1]    skipping background
2008-03-05 21:54:00.120    VERBOSE    [1]    skipping background
2008-03-05 21:54:00.120    VERBOSE    [1]    tv guide render took@row: 0.015625
2008-03-05 21:54:00.120    VERBOSE    [1]    tv guide render took@final: 0.015625
2008-03-05 21:54:00.120    VERBOSE    [1]    TVGuide.GetRenderList() complete
2008-03-05 21:54:00.152    VERBOSE    [1]    TVGuide.GetRenderList()
2008-03-05 21:54:00.152    VERBOSE    [1]    tv guide render took@1: 0
2008-03-05 21:54:00.152    VERBOSE    [1]    tv guide render took@2: 0
2008-03-05 21:54:00.152    VERBOSE    [1]    tv guide render took@3: 0

But I'd change you DB settings first - Maybe change then then hit ok, then come back into config.... Oh, and for logs when in the config app while scanning, please send me the config.exe.log....woops.

Thanks for your patience. I just discovered that there is a Logs directory. The pvrxw.exe.log-file I sent is probably from the installation of GBPVR.

You say "Maybe change then then hit ok" Where shall I hit ok?

Logfiles with SQL and MSAccess settings after unsuccesful opening of MusicLibrary2 in PVRX2. In subdirectory just after finished scanning
