We dont have them in this part of the world, so its really painful for me to develop and test this functionality. It is still on my list to do though. (I know its been pretty much forever you've been asking for this - one day I'll surprise you Big Grin )

In the most recent release, with the new 'out of process recording' feature, there is no limitation. Assuming your machine can decode this many streams in realtime, you could have (for example) 5 DVB-S cards all talking your newcs card server...one for live tv, four recording, or all five recording.

Hi Sub!

Firstly on the DVB subtitle side. I need this functionality too. A number of channels in the DVB-T network im Sweden use this. I thought it was working. My problem for the moment is to find out which page the subtitles are on, so I haven't tried it yet.

If you need some kind of ts-dumps to try it out with, let me know.

Secondly. All thumbs up for the new multidec support! Great stuff. I have seen it working. My problem is that my Terratec tuners are very flimsy with the MDAPI filter. The Twinhan works fine. The terratec I have a success rate of about 30% if it works or not. If it works it is flawless, if it fails it is terribly choppy.

I can give you a little heads up on this issue after some painful fiddling trying to find out the proper teletext page that DVB subtitles lie in.

(Actually one can record with the ts mux, setting from config misc tab and then feed that ts file to ProjectX (google for it) and it will tell you the pages.)

When setting the correct teletext page for the program in config I am able to create SRT files. Those files are displayed properly when viewing recorded stuff - but not in live TV. So back to square one really. I guess Sub needs to do some homework to get it up and running.

Anything I can do to help, Sub?

Try the attached patch. I've recently done a couple of small fixes relating to teletext.

Please do remember that teletext subtitles are a completely different thing from DVB subtitles. To really be able to support "everything" GB would need to support both formats (view and record)...

Yep, I know that but most other users dont seem to. I was careful to say that it fixes a few teletext related things.

Ok, slightly confused and need to sort this out. Does DVB subtitles work? Do I need to enter the subtitle teletext page in config for DVB Subtitles, or is that automatic? If I record a show with DVB subtitles in it, does playback of that recording show the subtitles again or do I need to store those as an SRT file.

If DVB subtitles does not work, does teletext subtitles work? In live tv also or only in recordings? I guess I do need to enter the teletext page for this funtion to work. What other options in config needs to be "on"?

Regards
Barsk

P.S I will try the new patch ASAP.

In the past there was DVB Subtitles was working in GBPVR.exe with Live TV. I'm not 100% sure it is still working - we dont have DVB Subtitles in New Zealand, so I havent looked into it in a long time.

There is no DVB Subtitle functionality in PVRX2.exe. It does have full Teletext subtitle support though.

Quote:Do I need to enter the subtitle teletext page in config for DVB Subtitles, or is that automatic?
No, this relates to Teletext subtitles. Its usually auto populated during the channel scan, but can be manually entered for countries where the page numbers cant be determined automatically from the transmissions.

There is no functionality to record DVB Subtitles. It was something I was working on in GBPVR.exe a long time ago, but never completed before I found more important things to work on.

You can record teletext subtitles - it'll create an SRT file.

Yes, though if you're using PVRX2.exe, then I advise you apply the patch above.

Quote:In live tv also or only in recordings?
Yes, both. Display in live tv is teletext style display. Display during playback of a recording is SRT style display.

Well, I tried this out a few weeks ago and forgot to give feedback. The thing is that I do not get teletext style subtitles with the live tv, and I have applied the patch. An SRT file is created though so for playback of a recording it works. Do I have to enable it somehow from the GUI?

Btw, the latest patches for NMT, do they include these subtitle patches also? I think the latest patch I applied was the one for the PCH integration.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Yes
