Ah, so it is.
I suspect several people that get one of these will find they need a new CPU or graphics card. Playback of highdef H.264 can be pretty hard on machines.

Not sure about ATI but Nvidia supposedly has handled it since 2006

SHS has posted this 80 MB test clip,
ftp://ftp.shspvr.com/download/moive_clip...0i_h264.ts From this you should be able to see if your machine is up to it. Martin
Yeah, I had those but just hadn't gotten around to testing them. I just did however and using the Arcsoft decoder, cpu is 35-45% on an AMD 5600+ with a 2400Pro PCIe.
Edit: Cyberlink 7.3 decoder performed about the same.

I thought I had read that using the HD2400/HD2600 that playback would be almost completely offloaded to the GPU. My server is a 3200 and my client is a 3800. Maybe sub is right and it would take a cpu upgrade which for now probably puts it out of my reach. I wanted to get 2 which I figured would be somewhere between $500/$600 which is a stretch for me but if I had to upgrade both the server and the client that just to much money. The test clip you played was 1080i so I wonder if it was a 720p how much cpu would be used since deinterlacing woulldn't be needed? Guess I will wait and see.
