Success. Thanks Rob11252 and Sub. I cleared my epg, and matched the channels picking them from the drop down list.
First I picked WTVS-HD (eng) and the guide was still off.
I then changed it to WTVS-HD (spa(AC3) and the guide matched.

Sub, I entered the Tuning requests manually because i saw it referenced on this page. http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Confi...HDTVSource

Yeah, sorry. That page is about two years out of date.

I can update the wiki page.
But, since I've never done it before, can someone provide a guiding hand?

For example, I opened the wiki page, clicked on "edit" at the bottom. A login page is displayed. I login with my gbpvr forum id and password and it says "username does not exist".

Hi there,

I'm re-opening this issue, because even after I got a better antenna, and played with it over a few weeks, i've noticed that what the GBPVR TV guide is showing for WTVS 56.1 is not really what is on WTVS 56.1; it's tuning to 56.2

I went to PBS.org with zip code 48333 to determine what should be playing on their 56.1 station.
1. Using Map channels in gbpvr config I tuned WTVS to 56.1.
2. I emptied and reloaded the EPG guide from schedules direct.
3. going into GBPVR TV Guide, it displays the text of what is currently playing on 56.2 which is "WTVSSD2"

I have confirmed many times, that when i pick 56.1, the little video window in Digital Channel Mapping in GBPVR shows what is actually on 56.1, yet when selected in the GBPVR guide, it shows what is on 56.2.

When I pick 56.2 in the Digital Channel Mapping in GBPVR it still shows the same (yet now correct) listing in TV Guide which is what http://www.pbs.org states it is playing.

The trouble figuring this out is sometimes PBS Detroit shows the same shows on all or most channels, then for the HD 56.1 channel it shows something different once and awhile , and this is when I notice.

the tuning request shown in Edit Recording Source is:
T:43,56,1~P:1~V:49~A:52~PMT:48~PCR:49~N:>56.1 WTVS-HD (eng)

Can anyone in the Detroit area confirm my issue and have a solution?
1. Check what TV Guide states is playing on WTVS
2. View Video to see what kind of show.
3. go to http://www.pbs.org to compare.

Any help is greatly appreicated, as this is now my primary TV, and i'm missing all the great HD PB programming that is only shown on 56.1

thanks very much.

You are confused by Schedules Direct. You should contact them and ask what do they call WTVS High Definition Channel. Or display TV schedule for this channel from pbs.org and schedules direct side by side and find the name this way.
It is quite possible that you are choosing analog TV schedule from Schedules Direct and PBS HD doesn't show there.

If not, switch to Yahoo! Go TV (install YApi2XML), choose Comcast Digital for EPG provider and look for name WTVSDT and tune it to 56.1 and look for name WTVS and tune it to 56.2.
Initially, I picked up Comcast Analog for my EPG and was confused as you are. So finally I figured I have to switch to Comcast Digital as they list programming for both digital and analog stations.

I submitted a Lineup Support email to Schedules Direct. Waiting to hear.

The following is the last correspondence with Shedules Direct. Their initial support email is below and my response is on the top. This is just FYI, the issue is still open.

Basically, they had me download a raw feed and manually parse it. Ok, so I saw only one entry for WTVS 56, and there was only one channel id. The fact that I cannot choose 56.1, 56.2 or 56.3 as a lineup option when setting up my feed on the SD website, and the fact that all these PBS stations do not show the same broadcast would mean to me that they don't provide enough information, and GBPVR is providing only what it can for WTVS 56.

------------------------------
Morser:
Hello Robert. Sorry for the delay but I am having internet service issues in my area.

I followed the instructions and was able to view the raw information using a text editor. It showed that there is information for WTVS, channel 56 in the feed. However, it only shows one WTVS channel 56. My issue is referring to the fact that there are more than one channel 56.x in this area, and the feed for each channel can be different, which is the case.

Using this text file, I am unable to determine WHICH WTVS channel it is referring to, so I am unable to determine anything useful from this procedure.

When I select which channels are to be in my Schedules Direct Line up, should it not be more granular? For example, I want to select WTVS 56.2 but not select WTVS 56.1 or WTVS 56.3? Either that, or I would have expected to see more than one WTVS listing in this raw output, then have the 3rd party application pick the proper one.
Thanks.

I'm very glad to post the solution to this. The support team at Schedules Direct was very helpful.

Ok, so when you create a lineup at Schedules Direct, if you configure it by a postal code, they can't show you the digital stations correctly. if you configure it by Zip Code, they can show you digital and analog stations correctly.

They are unable to show digital channels in the Canadian Lineups, "yet". Well, they have 2.5 years to prepare for that I guess. Smile

Two images attached.
NOR1A0-Lineup.jpg (first image I think) shows Channel 56 as one channel.

zip48333.jpg Shows a location JUST over the border from me, and channel 56 is correctly divided up into the correct points.

I have yet to change my lineup and confirm this as I am away, but it makes perfect sense as to why my channels were off.

This is great, because this channel was the only "educational" channel I was going to get for free, and I must say, the programming is great, hands down.

Thanks to all that fed this thread. I've asked so many questions on this forum, it's about time I resolve at least ONE of them. lol
