Highlander123 Wrote:It's a shame SUB can't somehow have an option for all clients to use VLC as a full-screen viewer on wireless networks, and I can imagine it might be possible to even have a seemless transition, so that when you clicked "watch" on the TV guide then VLC just kicked in and showed the program rather than PVRX2, which seems to need a LAN connection rather than wireless.

Maybe something for a future release SUB, or is this just not possible ?
Sorry, I'm not really keen on running external applications to do playback. I prefer to do all playback in-process using directshow etc. This way I can have the normal key controls, normal OSD graphics, comskip, resume support etc.

I do intend to improve the network utilization of client PCs, but I havnt found the time to do that yet.

Thanks Sub, I can see your point with regard to external apps, as this would end up with more configuration issues for you if and when the apps themselves changed, so fair point.

I'll just have to wait until you have the time to get some more network efficiency for the clients.

Thanks again both for the help and the information.

highlander you know it works fine if you use "file sharing" just means no Live TV
at least you can program things to record etc

i just tired mine again havent used it for ages (wireless)
it works fine for watching tv live
although im sure as soon as i try to do anthing else it will bomb (SD from pvr150)
but a couple of questions
1.what are you trying to watch dvb-t,dvb-s or analog?
2.if dvb what mux were you using ?
3.did you have it set to file sharing or streaming?
4.what was the strength of the signal to your wireless
5.you may be able to tweak the setting from your wireless to force the highest through put
