I have tried all of the permutations:=1, =0 or no line at all. I still get the error message "unable to start the BDA deviceyou have configured......." I dont think bda.ini is the root of my problem since it was unchanged from the way it was during the many months everything was working.

I suspect that this error message in config.exe.log is probably pointing at the root cause except it is beyond my ability to comprehend:

Set it to =2, then try using the device, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I did a clean GB-PVR reinstall (exc for bda.ini, config.xml and gbpvr.db3). I also did a clean install the HDHR software using the 07/15 latest beta. Same outcome unfortunately. This problem started after I ran a utility to remove the CoreAVC filter (avcdx.ax) and the FLV video decoder (flvdx.dll). I can't imagine how that could cause this but nothing else had changed. Logs attached. Zipfile includes bda.ini and filtercheck.log. Sorry to take up your time Sub. I know you have plenty to do.

You've told it you have a tuner filter called "Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 1011F2C7-0" on your machine, but this is not found.

Can you run filtercheck.exe from the gbpvr directory, then zip and attach the filtercheck.log?

It appears your HDHomeRun driver install is broken. These filters are not installed correctly, and would normally have input/output pins associated with these filters.

I've never used an HDHomeRun, so cant give you exact steps for getting the drivers working, but it definitely looks like those drivers need fixing on your machine.

There are no pins exposed on the filters. Try reinstalling the HDHomeRun software.

Edit: sub must have voice recognition software. No one can type that fast.

The bad news - I uninstalled, purged the registry, reinstalled the HDHR software, same problem.
The good news. I reinstalled the Windows BDA components - and magic -EVERYTHING WORKS! Thanks to you both for your help.
