Well I still have no luck with stopping the breaking up. Everything is about the pch unless otherwise stated. The ATI mux works quite well but then goes through patches where it breaks up again. The recordings keep playing after the break up.

It is not a network issue as the recording breaks up on the laptop at the same spots.

The CPU on the laptop is lazy when streaming to the pch so it doesn't seem to be a processor problem.

No idea about the hdd but the bit rate is so low I wouldn't have thought htis would be an issue.

When playing back on laptop, the cpu sits around 50% consistently with no spikes to 100%. When the break up occurs the CPU goes down close to 0% (almost idle).

I have tried the ts mux and ATI mpeg mux and neither works 100%. The ATI ones seems better to me.

Live TV drops occasionally but this is very rare. It doesn't break up like the recordings do. I'm thinking the live tv problem may be streaming via wireless.

Any suggestions? I have no idea what to do next. Settings, mux....... I'm lost now.

Did you try the TS Mux option? With this it effectively performs no muxing, and instead just writes raw transport stream files.

Yeh.The TS mux seemed to be the only one that worked with the pch when I only had TS mux, TS full and the other one I can't remember right now. So i used the ts mux for a while with problems thus the reason why I added the ATI mux. So the breakups reduced but not 100%.

Can you upload a 50 MB sample to a free upload site like megaupload or mediafire?

I have attached avery short recording from gbpvr. This recording does break up more than usual and it's not always this bad.

I hope this helps. Thanks.

Thanks, that sample proves the source is terrible, and no player can do anything with it. There are some artifacts that looks like it comes from the mux, but I think you have to try and get a better signal. Is your recording directory on the laptop?

Yes the recording is directly on the laptop. All gbpvr's video files go into the "My videos" folder. The weird part is that live tv doesn't seem to have the problem which is weird. I will clarify everything then report back.

Last time I checked the signal quality was about 80%. Is there a way to check this and keep it on screen in live tv mode on the laptop? I'm guessing something to do with OSD.

I have uploaded two sd videos from gbpvr. One is a recorded show and then I watched live tv on pch and copied the file it creates on the laptop when watching live tv. Both were from the same channel and show.

Both files appear to be the same format when looked at by media info so I am still puzzled. The recording breaks up, live tv plays fine. As previously stated live tv does break up occasionally but it is very rare and normally just has a sound cut out rather than breaking up.

I have tried the tuner with the dvico software and it appears that live tv and recordings work perfectly fine using the native mpeg option. So it appears to me like it isn't a reception, tuner or laptop problem. I have tried ts mux, ati mpeg mux and also one of the cyberlink mux in gbpvr so I am unsure what mux to try next to see if it fixes my problems.
