If by "first spot" "second spot" you are referring to the two cable connections on the back of the HVR-1600, you should be going directly from the wall to the digital ATSC input connection on the card (not analog) if you are trying to set up QAM. You should not be going through a cable co. box at all. I assume, since it worked in WinTV, that's set up right, but it shouldn't work at all if it's wrong.

Could it be that you saw only analog in WinTV?. It looks like you are trying to set up digital in config/PVRX2. If so, make sure WinTV is receiving digital.

Again, thanks for everyones help and understanding of my "noobness" when it comes to GB-PBR.

I am referring to the cable connections on teh back of the 1600. I am going directly from the wall into the second cable connection which is where I found was able to watch to TV shows clearly in WinTV. I am not sure if it was getting the digital channels or not I will check that out when I get back home. I will also try to post up screenshots of what my config is.

Ok me again... opened up WinTV and was not able to tune any digital channels but found all of the analog channels. I have attached to two screen shots of the config that I am having trouble with. No matter what options I choose, I cannot find any channels when I try to map them.

If you cant tune the channels in WinTV either, then you most likely dont have the cable connected to the correct input on the device, or you dont have any signal on that cable.

The GB-PVR scan doesnt look for analog channels. Thats for digital channels only. For analog channels, just setup a new capture source, using the analog recording plugin.

Here is what I changed it to and still nothing. I can bring up the guide but when I select a TV station it bounces me right back.

Just setup a new capture source, rather than trying to change your existing source. The channels are enabled by default. (they get disabled on a digital capture source when you hit 'ok' if you havnt mapped them)

Try enabling the live preview option in the config app.

Also check your specified live tv buffer directory exists.
