No channel change when recording

Go to the properties for the .exe Channel Changer and be sure none of the boxes are checked and use this for the command...
{channel} 2500 I use the same thing and had to slow mine down to get it to work.

I tried it, but no change. I have actually tried several different delay settings, and they work off and on but usually not at all.
Starting last night, the blaster stopped giving any output at all, even to change channels during live tv. I uninstalled the remote driver and hip, and then reinstalled, and it worked a little while and just now it stopped changing channels at all again. Could there be another app trying to use the ir receiver and blaster? How could I check on that?

If you go to the Windows Device Manager and click the + in front of Universal Serial Bus controllers, does the driver for the receiver say eHome blah blah blah or does it say MCE Infrared Remote Control?

It usually says MCE Infared Remote because I did the driver upgrade. Right now though it just isn't listed. This happened last night when I tried to roll back the driver to the original one: the device disappeared from the list all together even after several reboots of windows and reconnects of the receiver...
About an hour ago I was trying to tweak the IR codes HIP was sending my stb, and I lost all use of the remote. The device has disappeared again (I didn't do anything to the driver though), but HIP still says that MCE is okay??? I'm totally stumped. I tried eventhost, but from what I've gathered so far on the forums is that gbpvr has no way to talk to it to eventhost for it to use the blaster. Would IR server suite be a good fit for my situation? Thanks!!

Oh btw, I didn't do anything last night that made the receiver show back up in device manager... my roommate tried the remote this morning and it was partially working again. Go figure.

try IR server suite, works flawlessly for me - i had issues with hip as well.

I use Windows XP Media Center 2005. I had to turn off MCE services as it would cause my receiver to stop working.
Anyway, I installed HIP, updated the driver for the receiver, rebooted, sat up HIP, sat up HIP in GBPVR, and everything has worked perfectly for me since I slowed down the sending of IR commands to 2500. The only other thing I can suggest is to be sure you have the receiver sensor in front of the sensor on the STB. Mine is about .5 centimeters directly in front of my STB receiver.

Finally got it working!
I rolled back the remote driver to the original and installed ir server suite. I followed the instructions in the help file to remove registry entries that controlled the remote, and now everything works seamlessly! Thanks guys!! One small thing I still can't figure out is how to set the volume and mute buttons to control system volume instead of sending the commands to gbpvr. I usually use itunes for music listening (to access my roommates music on his macbook) and those buttons make pvrx2 open if pressed. Any ideas?

apparently one draw back of ir server suite, i think it doesnt do this

I just figured a way to do it:
-Download NirCmd from this website: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/nircmd.html -I made three .bat files that send the volume up, down, and mute commands to NirCmd -Create three macros in the Ir Server Suite program to run the .bat files. -Map the mce remote keys as a system wide command to the corresponding macro and remove the key entries under pvrx2.exe If anyone needs more detailed instructions or the .bat files I can send them along. It seems to be working pretty well for me. |
