If you output the full range of channels, you can view your qam.ini and the entry number should be the channel number. Martin is correct that those are 54-56.

The frequencies I used as a base can be found in http://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/channels.xls but to get the center frequency, run the following formula on column C:
Code:
=[CELL]/1000-1750

I've looked at the Silicon Dust QAM page so much I just about have it memorized. Smile VMC picked up the bulk of the 52-56 range but most listed on Silicon Dust don't exist for me. There are some in the 120 range that are encrypted.
I can say that one of my cables was loose and just tightening it seemed to have made a difference. I ordered some RG6 cables that should be in soon (no one in my area has any and Cox wants too much money for them). I hope they might make some difference.
It's sure easier just to get ATSC signals but only a few channels are clear enough to not be painful to watch.

One thing I noticed with Vista media center is that it only shows it found channels that have names (e.g. WXXX-DT) during the scan. When I went under edit channels I found out it found all the QAM channels, even the encrypted ones (has a lock by them). You can also manually add channels just in case it missed any....just manually add the ones on silicon dust and see if it works.

For me, none of the QAM showed up in VMC until I manually added one, then, a huge number of them showed up.
I manually added a few from Silicon Dust but none seemed to work. Again I think it's because of what my ISP is doing locally. I swear I can call every night, talk to a different tech and get a completely different answer on QAM. Just try asking for a current list. 'We don't have one' is what I hear. When you tell them you're paying for it, find it, they get smart with you (smart of course not really meaning smart). I just hope all this is not moot in February. I don't trust Cox as it's the only game in my town for cable and they know it.

Those logs show it failing to submit all tuning requests. I suspect that this is something sub will have to discuss with Hauppauge.

I assume by talking to Hauppauge you mean about how the drivers react differently when AllowQAM_PowerToy reg entry is enabled.

Not at all sure if any of this is relevant but here's what I've noticed in my many hours last night and today with QAM and GBPVR (& Vista MC). First, I manually added a zillion QAM channels in Vista MC based on a few local zip codes on the Silicon Dust site (in my case the same ISP handles 14 zip codes in my area but the lineup of QAM is a bit different). After adding them last night, I spent countless hours going thru each of these channels to see what they were. A great majority were black but didn't give a 'no signal' message so I would come back to them ocassionally. Most were On Demand movie channels and some even showed the movie fast forwarding a rewinding.
Today while watching a black screen to see what would happen (13 minutes) all of a sudden I could see the Movie On Demand screen start and could watch as someone with a remote control moved around the buttons actually choosing their movie title. Then they started the movie.
A call to Cox had me on hold too long to ask them for a list of QAM stations. Last time I got nothing but 'duh' from them. Also, I believe this is proof of SDV showing it's head in my area. I hope that Cox, like other ISP's in the states, will offer us tuning adapters for this but I'm doubtful.

What you experienced is probably not SDV. When someone in your neighborhood orders a PPV or OnDemand show, it is usually sent in clear QAM to the entire neighborhood but only the purchaser's STB is authorised to display it. This has been the case long before SDV came into use.

Correct, to find out what they are doing differently and what he needs to do programmatically for it to work.
