That's wierd, why would Recording Service pick up on Music Library Common? Oh well, There were no files in the main directory, I am sure. Like I said, I took them from folder to folder in the unzipped file. I have it all running again with 7.2, and I want to watch something on TV. Actually, ML2 ver 7.2 works pretty well for me. I'll try again tomorrow night. But, do check that ML3 zip file, you have an extra folder you don't need. If you unzip straight to the GBPVR directory you get a forlder in the GBPVR folder called Music Library 3.

ok, I'll check it.

Yes i get an extra Music Library3 directory - but then you copy the contents of it (keymappings, plugins, skin, skin2) to gbpvr rather than the whole MusicLibrary3 directory.

It just depends how I zip it up i guess, sometimes I use winzip, sometimes I use winace.

It does make a difference, I've been driven crazy by that. I blew the time, I have 50 minutes to try again. I am going to try to copy the files manually again, but I will shut down recording service first. Hang on a sec...

OK, It worked. The secret in Vista is you have to shut down the Recording Service, and also go to task manager and shut down the process. Then I copied the ML3 folder intact to plugins. Then I started to copy just the 2 files from the zip in ML2 to the ML2 directory, but then thought better of it. I deleted the ML2 folder in GBPVR/Plugins, and copied the folder from the zip file. Then merged the Skin skin 2 and keymappings folders into the ones in GBPVR folders, and it worked. I now have ML2 and ML3. Let me clean up a bit, and see what happens with just ML 3. Be right back.

Just checked out ML 3. It has a couple problems. It keeps taking the song '39 form Queens "A Night At The Opera" and sticking it in other artists albulms at random. Also, it ignores the track order check box in the config/settings. That is a deal breaker for me. The whole reason for me to use Music Library is to have albums in Track order. I am putting back ML 2. Also, when set to Artist/Album, ML2 shows the songs as well, and ML3 doesn't show them till you move from Artist to Album.

OK, before you revert completely, you should be able to just take the ML2.dll and put that in ML3/ML3 directory, it really doesn't care, and then you can de-select ML3 from the plugin tasks.

They both use the same backend code (that's what the MusicLibraryCommon is). Then as I add feature and fix those problems you mentioned, the upgrade is just the ML3 dll file. Leaving your ML2 installation intact.

The 7.2 ML2 had a bug where I don't think any album art was displayed. The ML2 V8 should have this fixed.

Thanks for that ML3 feed back I might get a chance to have a look at that. ML3 does have a different track loading system, so it sometimes takes a second for it to update the list of titles. But I'll look into that track number issue, that's probably something that hasn't been converted over yet.

No problem here with album art in 7.2. See screen cut out below, where you see the album art in two places.

Psycik, all mI did was to uncheck the ML3 in the config/plugin tab, and it went away. Then all I see in the pvrx2 menu is ML2, and that's what I use. What's the difference? The way I have it, it is usable to me, but I can still "play" with ML3 as you update stuff. Yes? No?

That would be the media details screen. It's in ML2 but not ML3 (yet). Navigate over to a title and hit the enter/ok button, Enter/ok to close it.

So even on V8 you still get no album art?
