well, gbpvr now thinks my aver m780 dual tuner is a single tuner when it's not..
i should be able to cap all 3 sources at same time, but now it's showing me conflicts..
so, a dual tuner m780 + another single bda tuner = 3
but it's only letting me use 2 at a time..

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to correct it by updating the section in your bda.ini file to:

[AVerMedia M780]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
SHARED_NAME=AVerMedia M780 digital
FILTER_TUNER=AVerMedia M780 PCIe BDA ATSC Tuner 2
FILTER_CAPTURE=AVerMedia M780 PCIe Digital Video Capture 2
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=Mpeg2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=Mpeg2 Transport

EDIT: Before you do this though, read the next post.

That said, from the description on the Aver website, it sounds like this is a dual tuner card with each tuner capable of either analog or digital, in which case I dont think you've got your capture sources set correctly.

You could in theory setup four capture sources, two analog, two digital, one of each as device #1, the other as device #2.

In your current setup, you've configured one capture source for analog and one for digital. To make sure they're not using the same tuner, at the same time, you should probably have one set as device #1, the other as device #2.

I'd probably need to see your filtercheck.log to be sure though.

no way! i would sh** if that is true! lol
i'm pretty sure it's just a digital/analog type, just like hvr1600.
[only 1 tuner for each]
tho they are identical tuners on the board..only 2 inputs..

i'm sure filterlog says so,so here it is..

no changes needed on analog side?

Sorry, I think its just a case of google leading me astray. Searching M780, led me to this page http://www.aver.com/mpd/combopcie_feature.html, which says:

Quote:Watch one Analog or HD channel and record another, or record two different channels while watching a previously recorded program simulteneuosly
This makes it sounds like dual tuners, capable of analog or digit, but alas, that doesnt appear to be the case. The filtercheck.log shows only a single tuner of each.

If you're sure analog and digital sides can be used indepentently, then make the bda.ini change I mentioned above and you should be good to go.
