Sorry, I forgot to reply.

I downloaded the file and can see the same problem here. I cant think what would cause this though.

If you're able, to get to the bottom of it I'd probably have to get you to do a one minute long 'Full TS' mux recording of this channel, then make the resulting .ts file available. It'd probably be about 300MB. I'd be able to use my signal generator to fake reception of this channel, and run a recording in the debugger to see what is happening.

Quote:Does the Mux selected have to be the same for the client and the server or does the client selection not come into play at all?
The client doesnt use the mux setting.

Just wanted to say i have a similar problem with some recording, but not sure if its specific to one channel or multiple, all are digital hd recordings. I used to not see this problem when using the ATI mux but experience it with the .ts recording, i am curious to know the solutions

Sub,

This is a link to about a minute and a half of a full-ts recording of the same channel as before. I hope it helps and thanks for the support.

My trials with the cyberlink mux showed that programs that were standard definition seemed to work ok but any programs that were the 1080i widescreen would stutter during playback and live tv. It appears that the DVR-MS mux is the best bet to get recordings to play on the client but the TS-Mux is the only one that will allow live tv(via timeshift) to play back smoothly. It seems odd to me that viewing the live tv on the client, ie timeshifted, is basically starting a recording and playing it back after a buffer delay but recordings won't play well at all.

Any luck with the new full-ts recording sub?

Live TV is really odd. I can record shows on .ts and they play fine on the client, but in live tv, where I also would think it was just playing back an in-process recording, it often only plays for a 10-45 seconds, then freezes. For me, my HD QAM live tv works fine, but my SD dvb live tv dies in a few seconds. My guess is that it is a quality issue with the dvb .ts file, but they do play fine as a recorded show. I am not sure what the dif is between playing from a live tv buffer and from a recording.

Sub,

Just wondering if you had an update on this or if you need any more from me. Thanks for you effort, I know this stuff isn't easy. I'm pretty good with networking and hardware but the software and programming just goes over my head.

When I used your full ts as a sample, I was able to see the same sort of problem when recording from KPRC-HD. I then checked the source file (the full ts recording you supplied), and found it had the same sort of broken playback corruption, even when played back in VLC.

When you do a Full TS recording, it records every byte of data that was sent from the capture card, so it looks like you were receiving corrupt data from the card, like you'd get with a poor signal. You mentioned you were receiving perfect recordings from the DVR-MS mux though, which really confuses me. I'm not really sure how that could be, unless it was just matter of timing, and you happened to try TS when the signal was bad (or dvr-ms when the signal was good). Or maybe you werent comparing the same channels?
