Would the sort mode be maintained upon exiting and entering a directory and should sorting result in sorted folders followed by sorted files or a jumble of the two? I had been planning to change the "Shuffle" button to "Sort" and have it toggle between alphabetical, creation time, random, [etc?], but was unsure what semantics made the most sense.

The way I use it is that I download various tv-series and watch them chronologically.
So in my case sorting by creation date is what makes most sense.
But I guess that music video users want other sorting abilities.

I found a "bug" today, shortcuts is not visible. I have added a couple of short cuts to folders in other harddrives and I can use these to go to those folders in the Video Library, but not in this plugin.

I tried the new version today and it looks great. But I also realize that I didn't answer all your questions earlier - as I am about to complain about it.

I would prefer it if the sort mode is maintained upon exiting and entering.
I would also prefer if the files and folders are kept apart when date sorting is selected. I think it makes most sense if the folders is kept on top. But I do understand reasons for placing them at the bottom (as it is windows default).

After playing around with it for a couple of minutes (before the wife kidnapped the TV), i felt a bit lost on which sort mode I had selected...
So some hint of what sort order that is selected would be useful.
Either by a multi named sort button or by a panel below that shows selected sort order - it is enough to show it for five to ten seconds...

Oh, I almost forgot; the fix for shortcuts works like a charm.

Thanks for your effort to put in more features! I appreciate that.
(And I do not think I have more requests for features left, but who knows.) Smile

I believe everything basically works as you've described. Shuffle, however, gets reset to alpha-numeric when changing directories since that was the original plugin's behavior.

The sort indicator sounds like a skinning issue which is an area I've been avoiding. If someone wants to work with me on that - and slick/community for that matter -then I'll add it.

As a sidenote, I'm not sure how many people will want to use this plugin after reven rereleases his. We'll see how it goes and if it's worth devoting any more time to improvements.

So, if I select sort order = creation date that will be remembered? Even if I reopen GBpvr? If so, I guess I pressed "Sort" too many or too few times...

Sounds fair. I have changed minor things in the skin files before but I'll usually mess things up...

You could be right there. That plugin seems to be a plugin that almost does everything. But I do think there is room - and need - for your plugin as well. For my use, watching downloaded TV-series, Videos Library give all the the features I missed in the original Video Library. Revens plugin could be overkill for that purpose (I may use it for my movies though).

from readme:

-Copy Plugins and Skin2 to the GBPVR directory, typically "C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\".

In the zip file I have plugins, skins2 and videoslibrary folders. What do I do with the last one?

The Videoslibrary folder is the source code.
So you do not need that one. Unless you want to add functionality yourself. Big Grin

@ jasonbs12: But I do think it would be a good idea to separate that folder from the rest. And upload it separately.

New version 1.53 uploaded; includes a sort indicator. I suppose it'll be easy enough to add support for slick and community. I'll do that next.

New version 1.54 uploaded; slick support. Maybe someone can donate a properly updated folder for community skin support. The only other missing feature is transcoding and it will most likely remain that way because I never use it.
