I don't want to throw this thread off sent, but I recently installed catalyst 9.2 on my office PC and it caused all sorts of frame rate issues in gbpvr, about 10fps, but I also had very high cpu usage to go with it (50% on a dual core).
I didnt try any other apps, just went back to 9.1 and it was all fixed. I should also add that my office machine is XP64....anyway the point is....have you recently gone to 9.2?

Sorry, bit slow getting back to this but no it sounds like a different problem to mine since mine is mainly an audio stutter that gets progressively worse and then the video starts to miss frames as well, different set of decoders as well, I use MPV and MPA.

for the Video decoder I have tried all: System default, Cyberlink, intervideo, MPEG
for Audio decoder I have tried all: system default, mpeg, intervideo
for AC3 there is only system default
for audio renderer: system default, Realtek HD audio, default sound device, default wave, Realtek Direct sound

the sound is perfect, the actual picture is very good but I seam to get only about every 10th frame. When I change the sound parts I usually loose all sound

Never went to the North Island. Took all two weeks to barely see the South Island.

thanks for your help

Elmo - did not see you post at first, sorry - I did not look on page 2

I was first at ATI 9.1 and was having the problem. I went in and made sure all my drivers were up to date - so I now have 9.2. Also go the latest fix for Cyberlink which is about 1 week old. This problem developed after I have been using the ATI 9.1 for about 2-3 weeks.

Might be worth trying an older set of ATI drivers then.

I did not make myself very clear. As I read my post it sounds like ATI driver is the problem. Actually it was working fine with the ATI 9.1 driver.

When ever I start having problems I always try to update all my drivers to be sure that is not a problem. In this case it did not fix the problem.

These machines have so many variables it is hard to find the real causes. I had this same porblem about 2 years ago. Finally had to uninstall the whole program and start over. That is a lot of work and I want to avoid extra work.

Superman,

You may try installing the ATI codecs which are part of the AVIVO package that is on the ATI/AMD download pages. It may help. at least it's worth a try.
