I get this also, but it seems that it is only when recording from two different channels at the same time with a dual tunner. If you demux the .ts file with eac3to it shows you where all the drop outs are, shows them as duplicate frames. Im using the dvb-t hauppauge 500 so can't be a usb issue? or could it be a driver issue? Im in NZ also.

Do you mean the NOVA-T-500 ? while this plugs into PCI slot is actually considered a USB device by the operating system

I'm pretty sure the jerkiness I'm experiencing is due to signal strength issues. At times the sound was pulsing on and off at a frequency of about 3-5 hz. I have installed a masthead amplifier in the attic below the aerial. Now the signal strength reported by the Nova-T-500 has gone from -9000 to around -16000 but the stuttering has reduced considerably.

I once found issues with USB ports and it may have relevance here. My USB devices did not seem to have the same rated speed on all of my motherboards. It turns out that I had to disable USB 1.1 legacy support in order to get full USB 2.0 speed. Otherwise, the speed of the USB port defaulted to USB 1.1 no matter what the speed of the device was, even though the USB port had the latest USB drivers.

I've had that too, on C4 (NZ) and usually after changing channels or pausing and resuming Live TV. I still have unsolvable problems with C4 (and Freeview HD) most of the time - all the other channels seem to work fine now.

Interesting. That's worth a try. Cheers :-)
