I'll check out the download as soon as I'm back, thanks.

As for the card, I don't know it but it seems OK - best to search here for direct real-world experiences. Alternatively, I've got the similar Compro S350 which is available very cheaply and works fine.

sch-mattes Wrote:By the way. I had seen that you exactly have the same htpc configuration which I wanne buy. My favorite TV card is a Terratec Cinergy S2 PCI HD. Would you like it?

DVB-S2 tuning is only supported for Hauppauge devices at this point in time. Furthermore, diseqc (in case you need switching for different satellite positions) is also only supported by some cards (Twinhan, Hauppauge). You might want to look at the HVR-4000 or the Nova HD-S2 instead if you want DVB-S2 support.

Thanks for your recommendations. At this time i'm only testing for a htpc for my livingroom. It may can be a winterproject. The most important thing will be, that it works fine. The best htpc software i have found now (gbpvr), now it must be put in a silent hardware.
You must know that my son and my wife must be able to handle it and because i'm sometimes on a businesstrip for longer, i don't want be called every minute. :-)

What I (and plenty of other people) do is to have a server with all the tuners and large disk somewhere - it does not have to be extremely powerful and use something like the PopcornHour at the TV's. This is totally silent and is just about identical to using the program on the server.

If you are away at times then also do not forget the EWA web interface to gbpvr that gives just about full control anywhere on the internet.
