It was making me crazy, as I KNEW that I had downloaded the file and followed Sub's directions to the letter. Glad you got it fixed! Smile

I hate to resurrect a dead horse; however, I'm having this very issue with psiparser and one other error during the 1.4.7 install.

I am currently building an htpc for my wife and boys to replace the mediamvp in the family room. (too many connection issues in spite of being directly connected to my htpc, audio sync problems, them eating up my hard drives with icarly/sponge bob/yadayadyada, etc.)

I started putting the machine together a couple of weeks ago with the intent of using Linuxmce--but getting the VFD on the Antec Fusion Black case was problematic with re-compiling the kernel...but I digress. This past weekend I wiped the drive and reluctantly installed xp pro, activated it, and then updated windows and all drivers. I then downloaded and installed the vcredist_x86 listed on the gbpvr1.4.7 download page and then attempted to install 1.4.7 and got the psiparser error. (Note that there isn't a cacheing issue here.) Then I tried the psiparser.zip that sub recommended for win2k issues: no go. Yes, i am doing everything on the administrator account.

Now this is the same installation procedure I did with my htpc re-install last summer--granted that is an XP Home machine.

I am stumped since the two machines are up to date with windows patches/service packs. The only differences is Home versus Pro. I will continue to go through the forums tonight (hopefully only tonight:-)) and follow-up with good news.

well, what a strange trip it's been.

when i tried installing gbpvr 1.4.3 on the new htpc project for the family, it was based on an Asrock 775i65g motherboard with XP pro. I had absolutely no luck with installing GBPVR: clean XPpro SP2 install no driver updates but only the c++ runtime library on the 1.4.3 download page. Error with registering psiparser & gbpvrtsmon.ax. remove gbpvr, update xp pro with all latest drivers and patches, re-install gbpvr. same errors. wipe the drive, re-install xp, run updates, remove both c++ libraries (2005 and 2008), download and install the packages from the 1.4.7 page. same.

had some other issues, so i was convinced that the mobo was at fault. bought a new atom-based motherboard and bequethed the asrock with the e4700 to my 10-year old son to upgrade the aging machine he had been using. (ok, wipe his drive, install xp....i wonder just how may hours i've wasted on microsoft OSes over the past 25+ years?)

the asrock system works like a charm for my son.

got the htpc together with the new mobo and hard drive, installed xp pro, and tried installing gbpvr. man, i could go bald with the late nighters of hair pulling. ok, gotta be something with xp pro, so i just got a copy of xp home. same old. it's not an issue with the downloads being cached, because with each new install of xp, there's no cache for ie or firefox to be accidently used. (son, there ain't no cache no more. there was one? -- ok, it's late and i'm getting delusional here.)

i just shut that machine off, and i have no log files to post. (actually, the only log is the config-exe.log, and that has nothing indicating an error. there is a .net framework error which pops up with details, but i've tried with net 2, 3, and 3.5.) i gotta go to bed, fáradt vagyok, and the family will have to just watch this new htpc fly out the window tomorrow morning when my 8-year old asks "did you fix it?":-)

oh, i've tried registering the filters manually, i've tried installing gbpvr/c++ with and without the pvr500 installed. i've tried just about every permutation of hardware and software installs and updates immaginable. each time i get the psiparser and gbpvrtsmon not registering errors.

sos.
