Sub,
The recording service is running and I turned off the ZoneAlarm firewall and reran the EPG update again. Still get the Error "Unexpected error informing recording service that EPG has updated: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:7968"

1) what does the recording service have to do with transferring the XMLTV.xml file to the TV Guide screen inside GBPVR ?

2) if I uninstalled and then re-installed the system
a) would it fix the problem?
b) what file(s) (other than the GBPVR.db3) would I need to restore AFTER the re-install or recover all of my program info and recording schedules?

Quote:1) what does the recording service have to do with transferring the XMLTV.xml file to the TV Guide screen inside GBPVR ?
It wouldnt stop the guide being loaded, but after it completes, it tells the recording service the guide has been reloaded (so it should reload its recording list, since new season recordings might have been created.

I dont know.

Config.xml and gbpvr.db3. You might as well backup the whole directory though, in case you find you need something.

So the problem I'm having is that the TV Guide is not populating with current and future time programming information. How do I fix that?

Has the xmltv file (that you're point your capture source at) got listings for a future date?

Is your date time correct on your PC? (common error)

OK this may be a totally dumb question & way off the mark...if so sorry in advance.

Have you restarted the recording service &/or rebooted the computer & then tried updating again?

So if I'm reading the XMLTV file correctly the last Program Start Date is 20091202. In GBPVR under Recordings / Pending programs the last date scheduled for recording is 11/26/2009. (Snapshots attached)

XMLTV has 3 weeks worth of data while GBPVR has 2 weeks. I don't know if this is the way its suppose to be or not. If its not, then the XMLTV sync to GBPVR is not working. If it is suppose to be like this, then only the TV Guide portion of the system is not working or updating its self with the data from XMLTV and needs to be fixed somehow.

As for the system date and time, yes it is correct and is synced to the time.nist.gov server.

Apprecaite your help.

Can you hit the 'update epg' button in the config app, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log? I'll check its actually accepting your xmltv file now.

Here's the zip you requested.

Just to make sure that I ran it from where you wanted me to ...

I ran GBPVR Config, went to the Capture Source tab, selected a line, clicked on the Edit button, and then clicked on the Update EPG button. I could not find another way in GBPVR Config to run the update. If there is one please let me know and I will re-run it.

FYI. This is GBPVR version 1.4.7 with HDHomeRun Dual Tuner using the latest release.

Have you got Windows firewall active? If so allow config.exe, GBPVR recording service, pvrx2.exe through.

Yep, thats what I wanted you to do.

Your logs show your xmltv file was processed fine, with piles of listings read. If these arent showing in the TV Guide, are you running on Vista/Win7?
