Hi Sub,
Yep, still happening today, turned on to watch the news but after about 1 minute it went back to the TV guide.
I have attached all the logs from immediately after it happened at about 12:15pm - 12:20pm.
Thanks for looking at this again, I hope you can help as this is just so annoying. Sad
Cheers Sub.

Sorry, I really cant see any obvious cause in the logs.

There is some changes to the way timeshift tv works in the next release, which might help.

Thanks for checking again Sub, I appreciate it and will look forward to the next release which hopefully solves it.

I have a CPU and RAM monitor on screen at all times and keep watching this closely and am pretty sure it is not a resources problem, but just to try something else... is it possible to make GB-PVR and its recording service a higher priority to see if that help?
Cheers Sub.

(Just opened up BBC News whilst typing this and only got 45 seconds before it threw me to the TV guide again).

Not sure if these are still used or not but in config.xml you can try changing the following:

Code:
<ForceHighPriorityRecordingService>false</ForceHighPriorityRecordingService>
  <ForceHighPriorityClient>false</ForceHighPriorityClient>

Use notepad, not wordpad, to edit it.

Many thanks whurlston :-)

FAO SUB:-

An interesting thing.... instead of changing the LiveTV Pre Play delay to a higher figure, I tried changing it to zero (0).

Guess what....

My program played for about 2 seconds before throwing me to the TV Guide, so... it seems the problem is something to do with the LiveTV pre play delay...?

FAO SUB...
New thing I have found... the problem happens even when using live preview mode.
The difference being that in timeshift I get thrown out to the TV guide after about a minute... but in live preview mode I simply get the 'no signal' warning even though the signal is fine.
I then press escape to go back to the TV Guide then select my channel again and the 2nd time I view it it stays on - just like when in timeshift mode.

So, it seems that for some reason, as soon as GBPVR starts and I select a channel from the TV Guide, the program loses the signal after a minute but is completely fine after that.

Do you have any other ideas please Sub as this problem is spoiling both modes for me and is also stopping me making recordings.

Cheers.

If you were in North America, I would say your signal is way too low/unreliable to keep a good lock on the signal:

Code:
VERBOSE    locked=1    present=1     strength=0     [color=Red][B]quality=59[/B][/color]

Not quite sure if the numbers mean the same on your side of the world though. You can try changing <BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording> to "1" in config.xml to monitor it in the logs to see if that is the issue.

Yeah, its sounding like your signal is dropping out for some reason, so live tv ends up stopping in timeshift mode, or giving your 'no signal' in live preview mode. If its not your signal, then its some in the drivers or device making it stop delivering data.

Have you tried this ...

http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=18418

Option 6 lets you monitor a single frequency/mux for a lengthy period.

Edit: It works with most devices ... not just Hauppauge.

Many thanks Whurlston, Sub & Graham.

Will give that a go Whulrston changing that line in the config.xml.

Thanks Graham, I have used that before and dont seem to have a problem with the signal.

Sub - what you say makes perfect sense and I would say the same if I read my threads - but unfortunately I dont think this is the case.
I installed the aweful 'Blaze HDTV' and get so signal dropouts whatsoever.
I also get no signal dropouts whatsoever in GBPVR - except for the initial channel selection when it loses the signal after 1 minute.

If every so often it lost the signal, or if other programs suffered a loss of signal then I would of course put it down to bad cables or bad drivers... but... this is not the case as the dropout and loss of signal only happens once and only immediately after GBPVR is started which makes me think it is a problem with GBPVR...?

Thanks alot to everyone for their input - any other ideas then I would be glad to hear them.
Cheers.
