Are you getting your channels from a set top box or is the cable directly from the wall?

The shaw cable comes into the closet then it get splitted by an amplified splitter, then one line goes into the bedroom, into the Tuner into the computer.
oh and now after i reboot the live tv shows no pictures at all only a black screen. The TV guide still shows all the shows. Thanks.

I suggest going to http://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/channels_ca and entering your postal code to see if there is any clear QAM available in your area. As sub suggested it is a rare find here in Canada.
I am not sure if GBPVR support analog recording on this card, but it is unlikely but that is probably what the ATI software is giving. Martin

when i used the website with my zip code, i got 6 channels.
http://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/lin...up_1172713 My main goal is to be able to watch the same tv channels as a regular TV but able to record via this program. I am not sure if i have digital or analog. You see, when i plug the same cable into my regular tv, it looked fine and everything worked, but when i hook the cable into my tv turner to display onto my PC, i get this problem. btw, i just tried to watch it on my ATI Catalyst center and i am getting a black screen as well and i attached the new log below. Thanks !

Those are OTA ATSC not cable which won't be received well without an antenna. Select Shaw from the top left and there is nothing there,

I get the felling your ATI 650 USB device is not the same thing as the 'ATI Theater 650 Pro' that does work with GB-PVR. I'm not sure if this device you have is going to work for analog.
Run filtercheck.exe in the gbpvr directory, then post the filtercheck.log it creates, and that may give some clues as to whether this device is compatible with GB-PVR.

yeah Martin, you are right it only show 3 unknown channels under shaw name.
I am not even sure if my model is the " theater" version, because the website i got it from say it is but when i got it today, there is no theater anywhere in the box or manual. The name i got is Diamond TV wonder 650 USB. i ran the filtercheck and the log is attached thanks...

Sorry, from that log I can tell your device doesnt have the hardware MPEG2 encoder required for analog compatibility with GB-PVR.
