oh, yea svideo only is the video..gotta hook up audio too..Big Grin
usually rca plugs on stb side, and hook it to the little headphone jack on hd650..

then you'll have audio...that's why none now...Smile

Thanks for the help everyone i now have audio but still haven trouble seems that im only get audio from one channel .....not the channel that the stb is tuned to but from another channel ( for example sound from foodnet while stb is tuned to disney have disney video but foodnet audio ) even if i change the channel on the stb still the same audio

the card is only recording what is coming from the STB,
out the RCA from the STB into an external amp /stero etc and check what sound is being played.

now im lost (more so than before ) i do realize that svideo is only a video feed and the rca out is only a audio out feed....so if stb is set to espn and i start gbpvr then i will have espn playing and i do... but the audio is not espn it will be something else (this is not something i have recorded have not tried to record anything yet ) its like the channels and the audio or not lined up

If you seeing svideo from your set top box, then I cant see it giving any audio other than that being supplied from the RCA audio cables. Are you sure you've got the other end of those RCA cables coming from where you think they're coming from? It sounds like that other end is the source of whatever audio you're listening too.

Sub ....i had the audio plugged into the second set of audio out on the stb rookie mistake ill have to get a "y" splitter for the rca out on the stb ....so now im getting closer but i have notice that when im watching tv on gbpvr i have a problem with it freezing not real bad but kinda jumpy is there something i can change to fix this.

and again thanks for all the help ...maybe one day ill be able to help others

Its probably something to do with the combination of audio/video decoders you're using.

Thanks for all the help Sub the freezing problem is solved have a great picture....but wanted to ask if .avi is supported because i tried to play a video from my libary and it went to a black screen then back to the video libary page ...i looked to see if there was something in the config to change but didnt see anything i also notice that if i try to play a movie that there is a xvid thing there if that mean anything ...
