Neglected to post this alternate background earlier which is like a steel grayblue background. Just switch the background.jpg image to change the entire skin background.

Updated skin to include video metadata from xml files and made some minor changes for the new npvr beta. See first post for the latest version.

Northpole,
Is it possible to do a version of this skin that uses more of the screen in the TV Guide and Videos List screens. I would like to be able to see more channels in the TV Guide and more shows in the Videos List screen. Both the default and Next Blue skins use only part of the screen. It would be great to be able to use that space to show more channels so that a user can reduce the number of times they have to scroll backwards and forwards over the Guide to find interesting shows. And in the Vidoes List it makes it easier to find shows if you can page down through a longer list rather than a shorter list. I am not sure if this is possible but if it is and you think it may be popular then it would be much appreciated by this user. Thanks.

Northpole, I am not sure if this is just an issue with my system (4:3 Television) but the clock in the top right corner of the screen is missing the minute digits. It only shows the hour. This occurs in both Windowed or Full Screen mode. Can you take a look.

I did the skin for a 16:9 display so I expect that the time is cut off because the difference in screen aspect ratio.

You can fix the problem by editing the Global.xml file with notepad and find the following listing:

<Element name="DateTime" location="77,0" size="22,5" alpha="230">

and replace it with this line:

<Element name="DateTime" location="50,0" size="22,5" alpha="230">

and then see if it corrects the problem.

Additionally, have you set the screen size in the setting to 4:3 (I think the default is 16:9)

I did that because I was trying to get a consistent look across all the screens. I'll see if I can come up with something better.

I do have 4:3 selected in Settings >> General.
I tried <Element name="DateTime" location="50,0" size="22,5" alpha="230"> but this moved the Date/Time to the left without increasing the number of digits.
This one worked though <Element name="DateTime" location="70,0" size="30,5" alpha="230">. As this is the first time I have looked at a skin its probably a good idea if you check this to make sure it makes sense. Anyway it looks like its working ok. I will let you know if I see any issues with it.
Thanks XJW

Your current skin is nice - its clean and simple. If you could do a version for folk like myself that want to be able to see more data on the screen - same font size - just using more of the screen - that would be great.

Looks good, sounds like it's working correctly.
