I run W7 x64 so no, I don't think it is XP related.

I have a 16x9 display and I have the problem on both 16x9 and 4x3 content. Previously, they both played correctly.
Can you post me a screenshot of what you see with 16x9 content?

I have problems on my widescreen telly with 4:3 content - using win7 64 and EVR. Squashes it too much so its too thin. I'll try and take a few screenshots. GBPVR gets it right though on the same content. I get it on recorded .ts, DVD playback as well as other assorted video files.

Seems like h.264 in a .ts plays correctly but .m2ts and .mpg content doesn't. I tried both MPC splitter and Haali splitter but no change. I'm trying to get a screen shot but can't get it to stick in photoshop, paint or ms photoeditor. I'll keep trying.

16x9 is never a problem for me, only 4:3 but maybe that's cause I have a 16:9 telly. With DVDs it's again only 4:3 content that goes wrong, any other aspect works fine. With other video files like .mkvs, 4:3 again goes wrong but other aspects can vary, but I assume that's my fault for messing up the encoding.

I have problems with both Std Def 16x9 and 4x3 .mpgs and HD 16x9 .mpgs. 4x3 is stretched to 16x9 and 16x9 is stretched to maybe 25x9 (guessing).

h.264 and mpeg HD 16x9 content plays fine in a .ts.

All my .m2ts content is HD 16x9, either 1080 or 720.
For playback of h.264 encoded content in a .m2ts, only the top half of the screen appears, the bottom is crazy lines, etc. The top half portion that is viewable is stretched to maybe 25x9 (guessing).
For playback of mpeg encoded content in a .m2ts, the screen is stretched to maybe 50x9 (guessing)

My decoder are both the cyberlink mpeg and the cyberlink h.264 decoders. When I cycle with the F7 back to auto, everything looks fine. Still can't seem to get a screenshot of the actual video.

Hope that helps.

I use the Cyberlink decoders as well, but my HD is stretched vertically to fill the whole 4:3 screen even if it is 16:9. What render are you using?

I believe the cyberlink h.264 decoder is responsible for the half height vertical screen. The cyberlink mpeg decoder fills the screen vertically like you said. I'm using VMR7.

I tried changing to VMR7 and with it all my recordings plays instantly with the correct aspect ratio. However, live-tv does not give my a picture, it just stays at the menue where I selected "Watch", but Ntray says that a tuner is engaged in live-tv.

Try hitting escape while in live-tv to return to the menu and then try live-tv a 2nd time to see if it helps. I get a blank screen sometimes now when I start a video but if I escape out and start it again then it appears.

I'm wondering if changing the media splitter would help. I kind of think so becasue the .ts play fine. I'll try some things tommorrow to see if that helps.
