oh, btw, i believe the 2112 number was actually a miscalculation of the 2012 supposed 'end of the world' prophecized by the mayan calendars...

I love Trees and when I it came out, I immediately tried to learn how to play it as loud as I could.
I also love the fact how I've helped hijack this thread from stealing in a dorm to good music. That'll teach the spammers

I've never heard of Rush - where have I been?

Have you noticed that Mr johnsonx42 has been cheating by editing his 2112 post...

Wow, you've missed Tom Sawyer, Spirit of the Radio and Closer to the Heart just to name a few popular songs. In 73 when the first album came out, I was hooked and have seen them 11 times. The first concert I took a younger brother too has him even more hooked. He's 43 now and has seen them in 17 states in the US and stopped counting at 37 shows. On their recent tour (their still adding shows) he caught them in Texas and Virginia and that was within 2 weeks time. He's crazy and his wife blames me.
They've adapted their music a little over the decades but still are the working man's band.

Now, given the obvious importance of these tracks, I think I'll need to make another backup copy and since I'm tight on space at the moment, the only place I can think of is in my own music collection... Big Grin

Amazing what you find when you start digging about...

I have tons of favorites.
They are very simple live. Never had huge stage shows. Their music speaks for them. But, the last decade, they started doing some strange things in the background. 1 tour that had a stack of clothe dryers in the background turning like they were drying clothes. They had t-shirts in them and would occasionally stop to open them and throw shirts to the crowd.
Another tour that had rrotisserie chicken ovens and every now and then some hot looking chick would come out (while they were playing live) and open the ovens and baste them. They've done other strange things that just don't fit in. But I like when the McKenzie brothers open up the show.

Again, it's great how this thread took off all based on a spam post.

ok, post 2113... time to hand out some bans:

pBS - for thinking The Trees was on 2112. It was on Hemispheres. BANNED
pBS - for thinking 2112 was some sort of miscalculation of 2012. PERMA-BANNED
pcostanza - for not noticing pBS's mistake about The Trees, yet still claiming to be a 'huge Rush fan'. BANNED
pcostanza - for having been to more Rush concerts than me. PERMA-BANNED
ACTCMS - for stealing a collection of 32 rush mp3's instead of buying them. BANNED
martint123 - for failing to talk about Rush and instead commenting on the original post. BANNED
the lot of you - for getting me to make a 2113th post so soon. PERMA-BANNED and IP ranges BLACKLISTED
ACTCMS's son-in-law, in case he should ever think of joining the forum - for stealing the Rush mp3 tracks in the first place. PREEMPTIVELY BANNED
I probably ought to pre-ban ACTCMS's daughter too for marrying the Rush thief, but I'm feeling a moment of leniency.

Did I cover everyone? Good.
