S-L-O-W remote control response

Just adding my name to the list of people with exactly the same problem. 1st press is fine second and after there is a delay of 3 - 4 seconds. I notice if you press the across button 3 times it will queue the presses. also while its queued you can not to anything else (right clicking the mouse button does not work).

I just tried that myself and my mouse click doesn't work until the queued remote commands are completed.

As far as I'm concerned, if it works fine with a real keyboard, then it's not NPVR's problem. ie, NPVR only accepts commands from a keyboard, and if you're using a fake keyboard that is slow to deliver keystrokes, then thats a faults of the fake keyboard software.

But the extact same setup works fine with GBPVR? What difference could there possibly be?

I dont know - but NPVR doesnt know anything about your remote, it only knows about keyboards.

Yeah I've tried a few things, it works fine with gbpvr, windows media centre and media portal all on the same machine. Shifting the npvr section higher in remote.ini made no difference and shifting npvr higher in the apps list made no difference either. Is anyone with a hauppague remote not having this problem (just thinking it may be a ir32 driver issue)?

I think pBS's advice to "try an irremote.ini with post messages in it" is worth persuing. Only thing is, I don;t know how you do this....

Another thing to test is how well the arrow keys work if you kill ir.exe (it still works in a basic way if you do this).

The other think I am wondering about (and this may be one for Sub) is if ir.exe has to find [NPVR] to send the keystrokes to, how does it do this when NextPVR is changing the window name to include the channel being watched or the recording being viewed?

Still testing, I opened up a video and was able to go forward, back, pause,resume, vol up and down happily with the remote. But when I exited the video npvr froze for a minute or so before working again. Doing the same thing with the keyboard resulted in everything working correctly.

I don't understand what "irremote.ini with post messages in it" is so I can't do that I'm afraid.

I have just done a fresh install of Win7. Same thing still happening.
