I'm using a Hauppauge 45 button remote. It works fine in GBPVR, but when I use NPVR (on the same computer) there is a 3 second delay between the button press being shown. If I press a button (ie: cursor down) 3 times quickly, the selection on the screen will move down 3 times, but there is a 3 second pause between each one. Everything works fine if I use a mouse or the keyboard. Any ideas on how to fix this?

If its working with the keyboard, then it sounds like NPVR is working fine, but for whatever reason the Hauppauge IR app is being really slow sending it's fake keyboard events to NPVR.

I can't say that I found the hauppauge remote any slower in npvr than in gbpvr, it was slow in both.

Do you have an NPVR section setup in irremote.ini?

I got a cheap MCE remote off ebay that comes with an USB IR sensor. OK so I have to be careful not to press certain buttons in case I launch WMC and some of the fancy buttons don;t work but it is 10 x faster AND I can wake the PC using the remote, thereby saving vital calories...

Yes, I followed the instructions required to get the Hauppauge remote working in NPVR. Like I said, it works fine in GBPVR, but not in NPVR on the same computer.

might wanna try an irremote.ini with post messages in it..they seem faster too...[32775,x,x]
i think it's the window detection that slows it up....post messages broadcast so don't need to find window to send to first..

Do you have an example of these post messages? I'm not sure what you're talking about.

It seems to be a 3 second delay between button presses. On the inital press, it responds right away, but it will not respond to a 2nd button press for 3 seconds. For example, if you press a button within 3 seconds of the last button response, your next button press won't show until 3 seconds has lapsed since the last one.

edit the irremote.ini and try reducing this value

RepeatDelay=3

This is what mine was set to, not sure if it the default.

Yes, I thought I had found the problem when I saw that earlier, but changing it from 3 to 0 does not seem to do anything. I thought it was a bit of a coincidence that I had a 3 second delay and this was set to 3 though.

yes it is possibly a red herring but (just to check) you did restart ir.exe after changing the value in irremote.ini?

you can run notepad debug.txt (I think) to test remote key input (speed) into applications

curiously here is an earlier report of the same problem: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...remote.ini

Yes, I restarted the IR software and then restarted the computer, but no luck.
