You could both temporarily try changing this section of your AnalogDevices.xml:
Code:
    <Device filter="Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture">
        <Name>Hauppauge PVR150</Name>
        <Type>HARD_ENCODE</Type>
                <FilterEncoder>Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Encoder</FilterEncoder>
    </Device>
to this:
Code:
    <Device filter="Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture">
        <Name>Hauppauge PVR150</Name>
        <Type>SOFT_ENCODE</Type>
    </Device>
In theory it's already trying (and failing) to fall back to software encoding when it fails to hookup the hardware encoder, but maybe forcing software encoding in the first place will make a difference.
Regarding the <Name> parameter, to my knowledge it makes no difference and is just for reference; the <Device filter> parameter is the key.
A real fix so that it can actually use the hardware encoding of the device will have to wait until the next release in a week or two; I'm not saying it absolutely will be fixed then, but if it isn't fixed at that point then that's when sub should be able to provide a patch.

Yeah, I suspect we'll need to wait until the next release is out so I can give you a patch with more logging.

I'm back on my GB-PVR for now, I (luckily) found a backup. I will await the next version of NPVR, since as much as I would love to tinker and play with it endlessly, my six month pregnant wife is not in agreement. She needs her Coronation Street & L&O:SVU.

Thanks for the help.

Sometimes i have video??
I tryed to find when, and i found next.

1-restart pc (when i try live view or record, nothing works i realy need to restart pc )
2-choose quickrecord from a program that is running now (record does not work)
3-reset pc again
4-program records
5-after record is donne i still can view live and record other shows
6- When pc goes back in hybernate and starts up again records fails -> back to step 1

Quickrecord from a runnen show and reset pc is the only way i get video.

Hopefully you know more where to look now johnsonx42.

I installed and ran the most recent version with patches. I still get the same problem, no new logging that I noticed, but the same error as before.

I've attached filtercheck & my logs in case they help.

unfortunately you've likely waited too long. 2.0.3 has been out for 3+ months, and as far as I can tell sub is well along in the release cycle for the next version and can't make patches for 2.0.3 any longer; basically we're at the same place we were on feb 13th were sub said you'd have to wait for the next release.

I had assumed that the patch with more logging you had mentioned would be something that would have been included in the last version, no? Or am I not understanding what that is?

Either way, what can I do to make something happen?

Certains of problems require a bit more interactive debugging, where I supply a patch with some extra logging, then based on the user results, I'll add more logging, and so on for a few iterations. ie, sort of an interactive dialog between us. I really need to do that in the first month or so after a release, so that I can make patches. My build isnt compatible with 2.0.3 any more, so I'm no longer in a position to make patches right now. Hope that makes sense.

sub means it's a special patch, just for you to diagnose your problem, not part of the regular release, in case that's not clear from his explanation.

fear not, my spidey senses tell me a new release is fairly imminent (within a week or two I'd wager), though I don't claim to actually know for certain.
