Thanks Reddwarf, I have looked at the packs and CCCP really interests me. I am just really proofing the concept of my HTPC that I am starting to build. Right now I am testing on XP but I will use Win7 on the HTPC and that pack will be my choice I think.

Thanks Sub, You put me on the right track. Effectively, I had ffdshow installed but it wasn't me that installed it. It was installed by another product and It did not include the interface to make changes to it. So I downloaded it again and installed the full ffdshow.

Now, I see and hear Live TV and tonight, I recorded my first 30 minute show. Cool stuff!! My proof of concept is moving forward.

Thanks a lot.

Hi
I just got a (yet another) tuner card, and met the same issue with a Hauppauge HVR-2200. Luckily I found this topic and successfully modified the registry entry in question.
So that I'm so smart that I found the solution here Wink, please add my localization in the next release (log attached) - thank you.

By the way, isn't there any way to prevent this from happening on every (lousily) localized Windows that NPVR hasn't been installed on?

Can you see if this helps? This patch works slightly differently, and doesnt depend on the name.

I get the same error message with the localized registry entry.
Since the localized string has special characters, I also tried a bit different plaintext string ('Audio Video Inn') - same result.

Can you reproduce the error with than new patch, and post the npvr.log/nrecord.log?

Here you go. The working version was made with the fixed registry entry ('Audio Video In'), the not working one with the original localized entry.

As of version 2.2.6, it's still an issue Sad

Recently I reinstalled Windows, and completely forgot about this. I was about to go nuts, when I suddenly remembered...

Seriously, this is a grave problem (obviously originating from bad MS localization policy), that is still around at this mature and stable development stage. In case I can be of any help, other than Hungarian, I think I could make tests runs in German, French and perhaps Spanish localized Windows (if necessary).

Personally I dont think it's a big deal, since there is only ever been a couple of users report having problems with it. Most devices end up with english pin names, even on localised versions of Windows, so only affects a small number of users.

You could try the attached patch though. Hopefully it'll help. Let me know how you get on.

I get the same error unless I modify the registry.
