For those that would feel more at peace being able to use that 'enabled' tickbox, the attached patch should do the job.

Thanks, sub! I'm guessing that this would also be needed to disable the new DCR-2650 if I run into any problems with it and want to make sure NPVR doesn't try to use it for real recordings while I'm trying to get it setup and configured.

If you've setup channels on this, but didnt want NPVR to use that device, you can also delete the channels in that device's settings.

I'll repeat what I said previously though - I'd recommend people only use this new method with the DCR-2650 / Prime, and not with old school HDHR. With the original HDHR, just continue using the original QAM/ATSC tuner options, not the new HDHR tuner option.

I think we're just finding it disconcerting having our old HDHR showing up as if it's a DCR-2650. I certainly didn't understand why it was there originally, and I suspect others might see it and think it's a bug and be concerned their HDHR support might be messed up now. Heck, I thought my DCR support might be messed up too.

Long term if the NextPVR's support for the HDHR is going to continue to include recording via the original BDA drivers as well as the new DCR drivers, I think it would be more intuitive if the HDHR tuners were simply listed once and you chose the driver type in the details dialog - BDA or DCR.

I'll end up hiding the new 'HDHR' device for old-schoold HDHR except for debug builds - where I find it useful. The remaining devices would say "DCR-6250 / Prime" like it does today ie, could be either of these.

OK, you have another crash test dummy! I got mine today. It works in WMC for some channels. My TA is not up yet. I will try setting up some npvr soon.

Ok, I got the basics running. The first problem was I got a bad USB cable from Hauppauge. I was a little freaked that the unit was bad, but then replaced the cable and it found the new hardware. I had to install the driver from the disc. Windows could not find it.

WMC found it and asked if I wanted to set it up. It asked for my zip code and them said it was finding tv setup information for my area. Then it sat there for about 5 minutes, then finished. Then it had me call time warner and pair the card. That went without a hitch, except the TW guy said that my TA was not in there system. I had to call local TWC and got that setup, I think....

Anyway, I now can view some of my channels on WMC, but many of them show no signal since my TA does not work... It loaded driver when plugged in, but I think this is the bug Hauppauge is working on. I sent them an email and hopefully will get a response tomorrow.

Then off to npvr. It found both tuners and I scanned the channels. It did it really quick. I then added some of the new channels to my EPG and then mapped them. I messed something up since my epg is empty for the new channels, but I can select them and they DO play live TV. At least most of them do. I have found at least one of them (out of the very small group of non switched digital ones) that is encrypted. It plays in WMC but not in NPVR as I expected it would not do. You do get the "encrypted channel" warning, which is nice. I have not tried recording yet and did have it lock up a couple of times when testing channels. I will test some more and send logs if I think it is worth it at the time.

Hopefully the tuning adapter stuff gets worked out soon.
