Well, the ID3 problem is moot for me now that I am using Exact Audio Copy to do the ripping...but I'm now trying to figure out how to show album cover pictures. Frankly I'm a bit confused about how to structure the directories by album anyways...in the picture on http://www.bladerhq.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...in/MyMusic
there is a list of albums, each with an album cover picture. How in the world do you do this?

Mike, glad you are making progress, you are now at the best bit of My Music, in my opinion!

Hopefully you have the required art in each folder as a file called folder.jpg.

Structure your folder/file system so that it is like this-for example:
...My Music
......Beatles
.........Please Please Me
.........Let it Be
......David Bowie
.........Low
......Kate Bush
.........The Whole Story
etc with the mp3s in the appropriate folders

Then use the MVP/RC Green button to toggle though each folder to choose layout for that folder ie Large or small icons (art), details etc. You can do the same with the Icon Icon (;-)) top left of screen. These choices remain for each folder, which I think is real cool.

I have an artist picture where there is an artist folder and album art for each album. There seems to be a small problem, in that, the album art does not show (refresh) until you use a scroll button.

Hope that helps

It still doesn't seem to be working for me. I've set up the directory structure like you said, but when I browse to an album's folder, which contains a folder.jpg, I don't see the folder.jpg displayed anywhere...I just see a list of song titles no matter what "view" I use.

I'm a bit confused by "I have an artist picture where there is an artist folder and album art for each album."...I'm not sure what you mean. You have a seperate folder for album art?

Mike you can use what directory structure you like, thats just how I have mine. Providing you set My Music settings to point to the correct place in its Settings in Config you should be OK. When I say picture/art I mean the same -just one's a picture of the artist and the other a picture of their album(s).

When you say 'a list of song titles' - do you mean the view looks the same or you have a large icon/small icon etc with the file name. In other words are you saying the folder views change but it is just that can not see the art?

Of course you wont see art at song/file level only at folder level. When you green toggle at Folder level the view should change to art to replace icons.

Cheers

Alan

Yes the cover art shows while playing which incidentally stops the screensaver clicking in unless you turn the "Dont display current song info" off in My Music settings. However you should still be able to see the art covers when you look at the folder info!

reven Wrote:for the users having problems with mp3 tags, the author of the UltraID3Lib emailed me today about an updated version, you can get it from www.hundredmilessoftware.com
try it and see if it can read the tags (you just need to download the dll and replace the one in the gbpvr root directory, its called "UltraID3Lib.dll"). if it is still unable to read the tag information (you may need to use a fresh database for this) email the author of UltraID3Lib.

Reven thanks,

I have tried this and get an exception when I scann the db. I used a new MyDatabase...
"Could not load type HundredMilesSoftware.UltralD3Lib.MpegInfo from assembly UltralD3Lib, Version=0.9.2.7, Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=null."
...

saintalan Wrote:Paully Hi

I have just tried this again and I have no problems either with .m3u or XML iTunes lists.

The .m3u lists I have are constructed within My Music. Are yours or have they been made from another source?

After replying to this earlier it started to bug me, so just to be sure I created a playlist within MyMusic, saved it and recalled it. Still didn't work. The format of the info in the .m3u file was very different to my .m3u files though (the one created in MyMusic was a line-by-line full path filename of each track, whereas those created in 3rd party apps were 'true' .m3u files).

Could it be something related to this?

"true" no, my music creates standard version 1 m3u playlists, 3rd party apps most likely create extended m3u playlists, with extra info which isnt needed. its nothing to do with it, if it works fine on the pc but not on the mvp then theres nothing i can do.
