It will be good if you check the graph by Graphstudio and share your graph. Acording the wiki, npvr support only external subs in srt format (lets left DVB and teletext subs aside...)

Solved:
1) Checked NPVR logs to see what graph was being built to identify not - working video filter (was using the Microsoft one) 2) Googled for this Direct Show preference tweeker http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=146910 3) Changed video filter for H264 to ffdhow. 4) Works fine now Thanks all the for the pointers.
