Good news and bad news: I just tested this here and got the same result, so something broke. The bad news is that I had to watch The Fresh Prince of Bel Aire for more than 5 minutes!

Good to know it's not just my setup, I guess - plus now you have all the comedic subtleties of the Fresh Prince down! The guy gets paid top Hollywood dollars now. Maybe we need to check that the playback wasn't stopping on principle alone?

just so you know, we're in pre-release testing for the next release of NPVR, so I'll champion this issue and see that it gets fixed before release. I've given sub my logs of the failure. You won't see any further discussion in this thread until sub or I come back and say "this is fixed for the next release".

Great. I temporarily solved my issue by reverting all files to the 2.5.9 release ones...works but I think causes other issues, like occasional client freezes from my analog source. Which file is involved with the issue in the original post...playback stops when recording ends?

Maybe I should patch only the host machine? Running the unpatched release, i think live analog playback may be halting each time the spool files are rotated, each six minutes or so?

I don't think there's any combination of patches that's going to make things better for you now. I suggest you run with the latest, and just accept the problem with watching in-progress recordings for now. While this can't be taken as a release date promise (I have no say in it anyway), my impression is that the next release is expected in a week or so.

Thanks. I am currently having good results with my client fully patched but the host machine running the original 2.5.9...looking forward to the new version!

Before upgrading to the new release, did this fix make it in? By using various back-level patches I have a working host and client config, so wanted to verify before upgarding each.

I think I currently have the clientpatched to post2 rollup, but host is unpatched previous version - changing host currently causes the current recording to stop in-progress playback when recording ends, as above. Hoping I can put this version on both machines.

yes, once a fix is implemented, it's "IN". sub maintains only one codebase for NPVR. the only way a fix that is mentioned at one point doesn't make it into a release is if some problem was found and the fix had to be backed out, or if some other change managed to break it again (the former rarely if ever happens, the latter happens every now and then).

please do install and test 2.6.2 on both your machines. if there's any further problem, post right away so that sub can fix it. the window for patches for 2.6.2 is going to be pretty small.
