ccihon Wrote:As for the service fix, the provided files did not fix that issue - same error. I am running the latest version of NPVR, and have edited config.xml to replace "none" with "02:00:00" as did the other user - success! So for now it is functional, although I can't run the service utility, it seems. My old values from the previous version seemed to be saved somewhere and are functional, however? Thanks.
OK, glad it's working. I'll do some more research on that error with the nDroidConfig.exe - it seems to be something to do with running 32-bit apps on a 64-bit system but I haven't got an answer yet. In the meantime, if you need to change settings you can edit the nDroidSettings.xml file with a plain text editor, e.g., Notepad. It's in C:\Users\Public\Beetec Services\nDroid Service on a W7 system.

I installed 1.8.7 last night and everything seems fine. I did see the 'rollback' problem when I installed the service, but it definitely installed correctly.

Good to know. Smile

Can you confirm the date/time of the three .exe and three .pdb files in the service program files folder? Thanks.

Thanks Alex, that looks exactly how it should.

I've tried all of the mention fixes but I can't get nDroid to launch on my phone. I enter all of the correct information and it just sits there and spins. I had to manually enter the username and password via the nDroidSettings.xml because after using the 4 files in the zip posted I still couldn't run the config utility. Running the latest version of NPVR and nDroid.

If the config utility isn't working I'm guessing you're using a 64-bit version of Windows - correct? Assuming that's the case, I'm still not sure why it's failing for some users.

In saying that, it could be a few other issues that can cause the nDroid app to not be able to download the files at first run (firewall settings etc). Zip and attach the nDroid Service log files and I'll take a look.

Cheers,
Brian

If you include the .NET sqlite library you need to target x86 or your exe/dll will fail on 64 bit.

The nDroidConfig.exe doesn't use the SQLite library but, yes, the reason I believed for the previous fail seemed to be the nDroidConfig.exe project properties somehow got changed to "Any CPU". The binaries I posted earlier in the thread (hoping they'd fix the problem) were built using x86 as a target.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

then i click continue and fill out my username and password and port, but it will not accept it.
