I just uninstalled and reinstalled the app and now it won't get past the "testing connection". I just noticed also that X-NEWA won't start on my Raspberry Pi. Is this related?

The both start with the xbmc login so I'd say yes. Likely the NextPVR web server hasn't been started, or there is a firewall issue, or maybe you changed the PIN in NextPVR.

Odin,

Thanks, that did the trick!

I just upgrade to version 0.176. One thing that I noticed is that comskip .edl files don't seem to be being read/used anymore. (The timeline doesn't show the commercials and they don't autoskip.) I checked the settings, and the autoskip option is selected. The .edl files seem to be OK because they work on the NMT client.

Unrelated: I'm curious why you chose to implement the "watched indicator" as a yellow bar for unwatched rather than a green bar for watch like NPVR (and the NMT client) do.

comskip should be working fine, well as fine as it was previously, i was watching several recordings last night and they all auto skipped as expected. can you just ensure the .edl file exists and that theyre detected using the normal nextpvr app?

the watched indicator i just picked yellow to watch the text, i cant seem to get a similar indicator in the recordings screen in nextpvr, didnt even know it could do that. I only knew about the red/green/blue/yellow button indicators

The .edl files are definitely there. Should the debug output show anything about looking for or finding .edl files? I just tried turning it on and beginning playing one of the recordings. The section of the debug screen looks (something--I'm typing it from the screen) like this:
