Ok I will make those changes. I don't know where to find the 2.7.2 version as it appears only the 2.6.0 version is available (nvm found it in a limited access section but it says access denied when I try to download it.) Could you upload/attach it here?

I did use that guide you are referring to and as I mentioned it is working for the most part. The guide was very helpful and I would have been lost without it and several other helpful write-ups on the NextPVR site.

I have it set to use a 6000 delay - is that ok? I'll try 5000 anyways to see how it fairs.

I tested recording a show and it looks like it can record the entire show ok as a .ts (30 minute show 3.5GB file) but when I try to play it back in NextPVR, it continually stops responding. Same thing seems to happen when I play it with Windows Media Player and it won't play at all with VLC.

Sorry it's donation ware at this time if you read the SageDCT links.

Upload a 1 minute sample recording somewhere of what you have and I will check it out.

Oh ok. I noticed theres a vlc RTP handler in 2.6.0 - should I try using that?

Will get a recording up shortly.

Yes the vlc mux is better than the default based on samples I have seen. As a Canadian I can't actually use this.

Okay I'll experiment with vlc also.

Here's the clip, sorry it's 2 minutes I think.

I tried the vlc a bit but it seems to maybe not work. I pointed it to a 64bit vlc.exe but it wasn't showing me live tv and didn't appear to be writing data to the .ts (remained empty even after I cancelled the recording)

So do I need to wait for 2.7.2 to become public then or is there another decoder/processing step I can add as is? What if I force H264 or would that even work?

If you don't want to donate five buck I guess you wait. The file does seem to play in NextPVR though (I tried in my backend) so you might want to check what you are using for a decoder (I tried with both LAV and ffdshow no problem) It's not an h264 file it is the mpeg2 decoder with an ac3 filter that you need.

Right about its current format but I think I can put some flags in the force it to generate H.264 (maybe?). Hmm, I am using LAV video and audio decoder for the right formats/filters - I wonder why you can play it back but not me. Is there a particular codec installer package you used? I used CCCP and left things pretty much default.

You might need to turn on mpeg2 decoding in LAV on the format tab.
