That's the thing. With WINTV6, I have an option inside NPVR for a haupp decoder MPEG-2
With WINTV7, I only have Microsoft as an option. No Mainconcept one is there??

weird...it was not there but after uninstall, install of WINTV6, uninstall that, then reinstall WInTV7, suddenly I have both Intervideo-Hauppage one and Mainconcept one. Neither were there when this all started earlier tonight....
For what it's worth, Windows Media Player uses DXVA2 hardware acceleration for video playback and automatically deinterlaces video. "Jitter" means something different to everyone, so I'm not sure if you're talking about interlacing jitter (e.g. vertical shaking) or choppy framerate.
Have you looked in the decoder settings in NextPVR to see if both deinterlacing and hardware acceleration are on? For what it's worth, the ideal deinterlacing mode will convert to 60fps in the US, but Bob or Yadif modes will need to be used. And to echo Sub's concerns, neither hardware acceleration nor deinterlacing will work well (if at all) without a proper driver from your video card manufacturer.

necro my own thread. I had a HDD failure and my backup was forgotten so reinstall and I am back to the same issue. Running Win7x64
I have 16:9, which fills my 16:9 TV great in the NEXTPVR UI. Full screen in Windows and full screen in NEXTPVR but...
...But when I play video (live or recordings), I get a 6" black bar on all four sides (on a 55" TV). So it is Picture framed. (although the NEXTPVR UI still fills the whole screen)
WINTV I can stretch it to fill, and in NEXTPVR I know I eventually got it to do the same....but I can't remember how.
I have
Microsft
Intervideo
MainConcept
decoders (and a few others that dont render like Haupp and Arcsoft).
Intervideo installs via WINTV6 and Mainconcept via WInTV7. WINTV7 is installed right now with Haupp service disabled so NPVR can run.
Note: I am OK with either vertical or horizontal bars since it is SD signal but I don't want a postage stamp in the middle since it "should" be able to stretch and fill the space
