arrmo Wrote:Hi,

Unfortunately nothing in the logs - it crashed right out, and I restarted it -> reset the log ... Sad. I will definitely capture it the next time it happens (it's not every time), post them for you!

It was the Live TV button, but I agree - should be the same as the menu.

Thanks!
Even if the logs don't show anything there may be something in Windows event log.

That crashed in "libmpeg2_ff.dll", which isn't one of NextPVR's files. It looks like it's part of ffdshow. If it's a recurring problem, switch to some other MPEG2 video decoder.

Yep, agreed - that's what I was trying to say above as well. Not finding a lot of good MPEG2 options (LAV had issues also ... Sad), but will keep an eye on it as you say.

Thanks!

LAV is definitely problematic. It doesn't play nicely with the Microsoft demultiplexer, which NextPVR uses.

There are lots of other good MPEG2 video decoders out there, but most of them come with commercial software.

From memory in the ffmpeg settings, you get two choices of mpeg2 library to use for mpeg2. Looks like you've got it set to 'libmpeg2'. Try setting it to libavformat or whatever the other choice is.

Many of us use SAF ... http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post414049

It bundles some decoders in addition to LAV

Send a forum private message to Hoborg and ask for the "unlocked" version.

In ffdshow settings, I think it's libavc that you should use, rather than libmpeg2. This has been recommended for a long time here. Follow Sub's suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestions! Will install SAF, give it a try.

Much appreciated!
