Wow that helps a lot, thank you.

Having a better understanding of how Guide2J works, I have a few additional questions:

1. The PostUpdateEPG.bat does not seem to run automatically. The shows are usually (see below) hightlighted if I run it mannually. What is the best method to ensure the .BAT always run?

2. I have noticed that the shows do not always show up highlighted in Guide2J if I use the Advance method, exit and then run the PostUpdateEPG.bat...opening record.bat shows the following
LAX has 5 potential recording(s).
Failed restriction on time
Failed restriction looking for channel :199
Failed restriction looking for channel :199
Failed restriction looking for channel :199
Failed restriction looking for channel :199

Looking further into it, the program is coming up with a time of 2337 (1130 pm) and end time 0030 (1230). I am usng Zap2it for the data. I assume that it is pulling the odd time of 2337 from Zap2it. I edited the .XML file to show 2330 but it still does not work. Please note that show does show up in the XRecord Scheduler so I assume that the show will still record.

3. In the More option under the Advance, it always defaults to a pre and post padding of 1. Where can I change this to 0?

4. Also under the More option Record Duplicates is set to False, where can I change it to default to True?

5. I noticed in the config.xml file that the default throughout the file is TV Guide, should I change this to Guide2J?

Yours truly,

Richard

You need to edit your PriorityRecordings.xml file.

If you want to have Duplicates always scheduled by default, then try changing your Config section to something like the following:

Code:
<Configuration>
    <MissingRecordingPriority>0</MissingRecordingPriority>
    <Conflicts>Delete</Conflicts>
    <DuplicatesAllowed>Yes</DuplicatesAllowed>
    <DefaultPadding>0</DefaultPadding>
  </Configuration>

Change DuplicatesAllowed to Yes if it is currently set to No. You will need to add DefaultPadding as it isn't included by default.

Hello KingArgyle

Thank you for the quick response.

DuplicatesAllowed has always been set to Yes.

I added the DefaultPadding line.

It does not appear that the Advance recordings in Guide2J pulls the information from the PriorityRecordings.xml file because it still defaults to a padding of 1 and Duplicates to False.

Update...this is why one should never assume....the show actually started at 2337 and it did not record!

Sorry for the late replay.

Guide2J is integrated within FastFind. It is the FastFind screen that show the Advanced recording screens - therefore the padding.

I know this is a little late, but, after your night update and the priorityrecording file is scheduled in GB-PVR, did was the show scheduled to be recorded.

If the show was scheduled to be recorded (which you can confirm in several plugins) guide2j/fastfind/cdk scheduler did its job. The recording service could have failed.

As I noted in another thread, I have updated the Guide2J and a number of my problems have been fixed.

Jrock, how can I change the padding in fastfind as there are no settings in the config file for the plugin?

I appears that I still need to manually run the postUpdateEPG.bat to have the shows highlighted in the Guide2J after I make some additions using the Advance recording method. Is this correct? Could one have the PostUpdateEPG.bat automatically run after making changes through Advance (CDK Scheduler)?

With regards to your last question, the show did record because the system could not find a match...recording.log stated the show had 5 potential recording(s) but one failed on time and the other on channel. Which is strange because I know the show fell into the right time. This has only happened to me once before. It is always when a show starts a few minutes late and Zap2it shows that it starts late, but GB-PVR does not seem to be able to handle it?

Can you send me you priorityrecording file and the specify the show and time that failed.

You cannot have CDK run after making changes- yet - soon, hopefully. We are still working on this and other usability issues.

Sorry, the show no longer shows in the files. If this happens again I will email you the file.

No problem regarding CDK, I can easily run it manually.

Are you aware of any way to change the padding in fastfind?
