NPVR crashing / Win 10

It looks like it might have crashed in the closed capture filter NPVRCCExtractor.ax.

You might have to try setting some registry settings to collect a mini-dump when it crashes. I can then load it up in the debugger to see where it's crashing.

Hi there - new to NextPVR installed it a couple weeks ago (and haven't had a lot of time to even play with it yet) but noticed this same Win 10 crash behavior calling out NPVRCCExtractor.ax on my system beginning 1/14/2016 after Win 10 patch applied during the evening... Haven't reverted the patch yet - so don't know if the issue is caused by it - but now Live TV drops after a couple of seconds (at best) or just fails to start at all (at worst). Hope to see any further clues in this thread.

This is a new component, so could quite possibly be the cause.

Ok, created the key. Will send a dump file on next crash. I also managed to get the Cybernet decoder registered in lieu of LAV, so this will take that out of the uncertainty loop.

Thanks for pointing that out. I just updated to 3.6.6 and am seeing a consistent crash trying to play back my recording of American Idol: it crashes in several spots, and always when trying to play those particular points in the video. I moved NPVRCCExtractor.ax out of the NPVR dir, and now it plays back just fine. I was just about to downgrade back to 3.5.7, so hopefully I won't have to do that now. (I'm also running Windows 10, BTW.)

I renamed this file. No crashes or adverse effects since. That's not definitive, but it's good.

I'm having the same problem with playback of American Idol. I'll try renaming NPVRCCExtractor.ax and see if that works this week.
