Does that include pausing when a tuner is in use? The local PBS station rebroadcasts programs at all hours of the day and night. I will never be able to accurately predict when NextPVR will reschedule PBS programs when they conflict with other scheduled recordings.

I don't know what you mean by "pausing when a tuner is in use." However, nothing will change with the NextPVR scheduling algorithms whether you use the built-in Schedules Direct EPG support or an external xmltv file. The scheduling (including conflict avoidance and resolution) will behave exactly the same way.

If you mean that what happens if a scheduled recording wants the tuner but you have the tuner locked because you are watching live tv, then it will throw you out of livetv.

It's worth noting though that logic is only used as a last resort. Most users probably won't see many occurrences of this if ever, while a small percentage will see it all the time. It really depends on a) whether you tend to use recurring recording requests that have restrictive criteria (i.e. new only, specific day or time slot, etc.), b) whether your channels tend to carry multiple airings of the same episode at different times and/or on different channels, and c) whether you tend to record more programs than you have tuners. If the answer to all 3 is yes, then you'll love that logic... otherwise you'll never see it.

as to the question our OP asked in post #10 of this thread, I confess to being befuddled as to what exactly is being asked. all I can really think to say is "please stop asking questions, and setup Schedules Direct. ignore anything and everything you've ever read anywhere about UpdateEPG.bat... pretend there is no such thing"
