Since you are using a SD HDHomeRun device, have you tried running the HDHomeRun View App on the IdeaCentre Stick? Before running the View App, be sure to install the HDHomeRun software on your client.

Just trying to eliminate wifi connection problems as the source of the problem.

You could also try the NextPVR web client in a browser on the 300.

It is actually hard wired. I have a usb hub with a Gigabit usb adapter attached to it. The built in wifi is terrible.
I installed the SiliconDust windows package. There is no HDHomeRun View app included with it. There used to be a QuickView app but that went away.
If you run hdhomerun_setup.exe and click on a channel it launches microsoft media player and that streams from the HDHomerun just fine.

I could run it from a browser but there's the WAF. Wink

Thanks for the suggestions,

Jim

I am assuming that this was to be applied on the server. I created the c:\temp directory and added the key to regedit. I tried Live TV from the client and it failed in the same manner.
No file showed up in the temp directory.
I attached a screen grab of regedit so you can verify that I created the correct key.

That is a client setting.

Odd, the NPVR key existed on the server but not the client. I had to add it to the client before I could add the value. Didn't matter, however, because neither the server nor the client create a file in the c:\temp subdirectory.

Am I the only one who is having this issue? Are there lots of American NPVR/HDHR users out there playing live tv successfully on clients? If so, maybe I need to just wipe the server and reinstall nextpvr from scratch.

If the client is a 32bit version of Windows, the registry key would be:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NPVR\LogClientStream=1

The key itself will exist if you've got NextPVR installed. You probably wont hav ethe LogClientStream setting though - you'd just create it.

That worked. Logs are attached. Stream.log is in the clientlogs zip.

How quickly does live tv start on the server when you try?

There is a big unexpected 30 second delay in your logs when it's trying to hook things up, where it looks like it's not receiving any data. This causes the tuner lease to time out and the tuner to be stopped and released.

It's not entirely clear why that is happening. It'll likely be either because your device is not delivering any data, or because your firewall is blocking the data from being sent, or something similar.

If it is firewall related, remember it could be the firewall at either end - client or server.
