4.04 upgrade: NEWA EPG works but the modern interface is dead

I was asking about the TV Guide screen within the desktop NextPVR application, rather than the web app.

Are you able to temporarily enable external access, and PM me your ip address? I'll try viewing the webpage from here, and see what is failing.

Just to add to what I've already said, the modern guide doesn't populate using Firefox 55.0.2 on Ubuntu 16.04, nor using Chrome on Android, nor Internet Explorer on Windows 10 (I hate Edge). I can't spot any error messages with F12 on the first and last of those.

I too *had* this same problem... until tonight 9/25/2017, when the issue mysteriously fixed itself! No updates whatsoever (neither Microsoft nor NextPvr). Modern Guide is now working for me in V4.0.4.

Thanks to Sub and UJB, the fault was traced to a missing file - c:\users\public\npvr\web\modern\js\jquery.nearest. js

No idea why this wasn't installed in the first place but a reinstallation of the program fixed it.

Ah, except now I can't see the main NextPVR program or the settings module, although the status module works ok. I'm beginning to think it might be better to do a complete uninstall but then I will lose all the settings etc.

NextPVR stores all of its settings and lists of recordings and everything in two files ... config.xml and npvr.db3 in Users\Public\NPVR

You should be good if you save these two files and uninstall, delete the NPVR folders in Program Files (X86) and in Users\Public , reinstall and then copy the two files back into Users\Public\NPVR.

So I uninstalled with Add/Remove Programs, deleted the Users\Public|NPVR folder after copying the two files mentioned by Graham, then reinstalled a fresh download of v4.04 before copying the settings files back into the NPVR folder. I still have no GUI or ability to see the settings. Running Windows 10 Pro v1703. The PC has never been used for anything but NPVR since I did a clean install of Windows 10 - there are no other programs on the thing.

Grr. The GUI etc was all working fine when I opened this thread, and everything was ok using v3.9

What are the symptoms? ... What happens when you click on the NextPVR icon in the Start menu?
