I'm not entirely sure what's happening. I checked the NextPVR scan logs, with the same frequencies that found channels in WinTV, and it was indicating no signal lock. There was no sign of any errors starting the device. Any time we've had that before, it's just come down to antenna etc.
We could maybe try collecting some lower level scan info. Create a c:\temp directory, and set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\NPVR\ LogTSFlow=1 (DWORD) in the registry, then try scanning again, and post the NextPVR logs, and c:\temp\mon.txt

Yep, so should be working - I was just saying it's confusing, because every other time it's been the antenna when there is no errors, but no signal lock shown. If it's working in WinTV, it should be working in NextPVR. (antenna working in TV doesn't really help too much, because we quite often see that TVs work fine with a lot worse signal than PC capture devices do)
i did everything you suggested without any luck, and the temp dir is empty. is there any other file(s) that need to be deleted or reset for a fresh start? thx
i forgot to mentioned earlier that these devices have been working just fine, in the same computer, for at least two years. everything screwed up when i removed two other devices.

If you're on a 32bit version of Windows, it'd be:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NPVR\LogTSFlow=1
Also, you would have needed to restart the software after adding the registry setting.
